On Fame
I once read a book about some creature or other that loved humans more than anything. They loved the vitality of our short lifespans, the art that shouted "notice me! remember me!" which it could not achieve because it had such a long lifespan. I don't have much more to add to that, but...yeah. Maybe this need to be recognized is only another facet of our self preservation; a desire to live beyond our days.
