Shut your eyes || drabble
Her heart was longing for him.
But Catherine didn't want it to happen. She didn't want to love again. She was too afraid to be left alone. It happened once and it could happen again. She was running. Running away from him. She never said anything that she was leaving. The only thing left of her was a short note.
"I'm sorry. I can't do this. Forget about me."
She had nothing but small bag with necessary things. She will get rest of her properties later, when she will find new place to live. Somewhere far from here so she could forget. But how she could forget about something that brought a little joy into her life?
Nonetheless, Catherine was running away.
They came suddenly. Like shadows creeping in the night. Catherine was too distracted by her own thoughts and concerns to notice them until it was too late.
They caught her.
She tried to fight back, putting down two of the man. But it was not enough. She wasn't quick enough. Catherine was too unfocused to see men behind her.
They sold bullets in her back.
Catherine did not scream, she did not yell when hard ground greeted her. Laying in her own warm blood she could do nothing. They left and she was alone on the empty street, whispering last word.
"Elliot"
When someone found her after half hour, Catherine was barely breathing. Her eyes were shut close when they took her to the hospital. But they did not open, even if her life was stable.
