Did you see that whole UPS nonsense on the news? They were saying they were backed up on the day after Christmas but opened at 11! I was like 11?!?!? No wonder!
I didn't, but it's so infuriating! I ordered this gift on the 18th and was guaranteed two-day shipping; even if its shipping label wasn't created until the 21st I would think it had ample time to get delivered before the Christmas Eve e-commerce rush set in? I would put more blame on the online retailers, honestly, for fueling consumer expectations on last-minute purchases and causing this whole mail glut deal--there's only so much UPS workers can achieve given their 100-hour holiday workweek.
I don't particularly mind it being late, I just want to make sure it's delivered sometime next week before we head back to campus and not having that guarantee is making me anxious. UPS doesn't have an estimated delivery date for it.
This delivery season has been pretty absurd for me in general; I ordered my brother a shirt he wanted for Christmas and was given a Dexter BBQ Apron instead?? I got a full refund and a gift certificate from the site I bought it at (unfortunately the shirt is sold out), but the only present I was able to give on Christmas day was the toaster oven my siblings and I all pitched in for our parents. (My sister's Etsy gift was never expected to get here by Christmas since it's coming from France or China.)
