Thought No.1 : On Racism.
Disclamer : Sorry if anyone takes offense in my thoughts but yeah, whatever, ya know ?
AHLALALALA. Racism. RACISM. What a stupid thing.
See, racism is sneaky: You call someone names because they don’t look like you but “Buddy, the only person who’s exactly like you is yourself.”
Yep. That’s right. NOBODY in the whole Universe will ever look exactly like you. Unless you have an identical twin or something.
I’ve got a lot of things on my mind about this subject. A lot.
First, races never existed. You, I, them, we’re all humans, aren’t we ? We all have our own problems and own shit to do and fucking lives of our owns.
Also racism is really bad. Nobody should get killed because they were born with darker/paler skin or slanted eyes. Everybody matters, everybody has the right to live in peace.
BUUUT, I already heard people taking advantage of this. “Terrence, detention !” “JUST BECAUSE I’M BLACK !” No. She/he said that because you called your fella a cunt/was an arsehole/spat on someone/did something bad, which is not socially acceptable. This shit is not something you should say and it’s anything but funny. Innocent people got sent in jail because of false accusations of racism.
I’m what people call ‘black’ (or of mixed race) but, to be completely honest with you, I’ve never actually thought about me or other people as “just colours”. It’s kind of like you judged people by their eye colour or by the shape of their feet. It’s ridiculous. Humans are so much more than that !
Racism goes both ways, too. My mum got insulted for being ‘white’ and I was bullied for being ‘half-black’ or whichever shit they called me. I didn’t want to go to school as a kid because of that and I even told my mum I wanted to be ‘white’.
Thing is, racism can be toward anyone, but it’s not because you don’t like someone of a particular Pantone shade that you must be against a whole ethnicity.
Also, can someone tell me what’s the deal with the whole “White people can’t...” and “Black people can’t...” ?
Everybody can do whatever the fuck they want. Because we’re all different, but also all the same. The world needs to wake the fuck up and realise that you can’t define someone by their colour (which they obviously didn’t choose), but by their actions and thoughts and attitude.
And by the way, I may be of Pantone 18-0940 TPX (Yup. Golden brown, cause I’m like, Royalty), but that doesn’t mean I won’t appreciate Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte as much as a paler skinned person ! And anyway, what’s racism good for ? Nothing, that’s right.
Summary of the post : Racism. Fucks. The. World. Up.
Aftermath of racism : -War -Sadness -Bullying -War -Angry people -Possible destruction of the Universe
Books on the subject : –> Lies We Tell Ourselves by Robin Talley, which is a YA LGBTQA+ book about segregation and integration and same sex love and it’s totally awesome, may I tell you.
–> The Help by Kathryn Stockett, which has been made into an amazing movie with Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer and Emma Stone (QUEEEEENS) and is one of my personal favorites.
–> To Kill A Mocking Bird by Harper Lee, which y’all probably read in High School / College / Life
Now, what are YOUR thoughts on Racism ?
