I might be a bit late to this realization but it just came to me while reading ‘’a tohusand ships’’ and all the books related to the trojan war, that Penelope/Klytemnestra and Helen are basically the human equivalent of Athena/Hera and Aphrodite who had Paris decide who is the most beautiful.

-Penelope is Athena mainly bc a) she is always descirbed as having wise grey owl like eyes (hellooooo Athena’s description) and b) because she is married to Odysseus who let’s face it being a smarty pants would never marry a woman who wasn’t just as clever and lowkey cunning.

-Klytemnestra is Hera because she too is married to the great king Agamemnon (Zeus being the king of gods and human alike) and because she has been betrayed by Agamemon many times over once when he sacrificed their daughter and when he decided to bring Cassandra to their home.

-Helen is OF COURSE Aphrodite for the most obvious reason that she is the most beautiful and desired of all women and because she like Aphrodite though married to Menelaus betrayed him and ran away with Paris just like Aphrodite had Ares as her lover though she was in a relationship with Hephestus...

God i LOVE greek mythology :D

After an accidental month-long hiatus, chapter 24 of Thousand Ships is finally here. Enjoy!

Wait wait wait. We get to ask you questions about the writing process now? In the history of floods and gates their pairing has never been more open (wait are floodgates otp?).

Also since you are not on reddit, I have a running theory that you let Qvert believe she is bribing you with artwork while this whole time you created the entire "Thousand Ships" universe just so, on top of your amazing writing, she will also gift us all with this amazing art. You were three steps ahead this whole timeeeeeeee.

But seriously you guys are the absolute best dynamic duo and I am so here for further shenanigans whether it's a new chapter (there is only one left nooo) or bribery art I will selfishly hoard it all in my little safe space.

Thank you thank you thank you, both of your works have been an absolute beacon of positivity and hope in these difficult times and I wish I could be able to articulate better how grateful I am for it.

At last… someone recognizes my master plan.

Step 1: Invent emotionally repressed lesbians Step 2: Make them yearn in extremely drawable poses Step 3: Qvert has no choice but to draw them (...you could say she's... drawn in) (get it? because of draw- ok ok I'll see myself out) Step 4: Profit (the profit is feelings)

(just between you and me: once Qvert was hooked, I may have leaned into making certain scenes… visually persuasive. I had no expectations, of course. But some creative investments did pay off beautifully 😌)

Ok on a more serious note: this made me really happy. Your enthusiasm has been such a bright spot through all of this. Qvert shows your reddit comments to me like tiny gifts and it always makes me smile. Thank you 💚

PS: I'm currently deep in the trenches of meme making (for completely normal reasons, I assure you) and this inspired me to make some memes hehe
