It's embarrassing, honestly, to get caught holding both a cat and a dead mouse by anyone, in any context, Jo thinks to herself. It's more embarrassing, however, when it's by your neighbor, who you see on the regular, and even more so when you're standing on their front step with the aforementioned cat and mouse. Add on to the fact that she's scolding the cat (Leonard, as in Nimoy, who is large, orange, and very disgruntled looking) when the door opens, and the other fact that this has happened before, and it's practically embarrassment soup.
"I am really so, so sorry.." She says, trying her best to seem composed. "He brought you, um, a present of sorts, I figured you wouldn't want it." Obviously.. "I do keep telling him this isn't how to make friends, but.."
