A Wild Rat Chase
@unterzee
The Mare Crisium seems more like home to her than the tranquil woods she woke up to and currently calls her residence. While the gothic architecture and abandoned lots is still far from the urban sprawl she calls home, the scene of towering buildings and dark hidden alleyways give her a sense of familiarity. It’s one of the reasons she’s skulking about the shady parts in this side of the sea. The other reason she is here, is to investigate rumors she’s been hearing. The rats squeak and gossip amongst themselves about a certain ‘ruler’ that is currently hiding out somewhere in this Mare, an aptly named ‘rat king’.  This was the first time Neo has heard of any of these local denizens having any sort of ‘leader’ among them, the bears in Tranquility never mentioned anything about a leader of theirs in her stay. Interest piqued, she leads her own investigation about this rumor, keeping a slight skeptic thought in the back of her head regarding the Mare Crisium’s Denizes penchant for tricks. Still, it wasn’t as if she had anything better to do and in the long run, maybe meeting this supposed ‘Rat King’ could be beneficial towards this overall situation.
Light staccato steps lightly echo through the darkened alleyways of pavement. The dusk gives dim lighting around the area, though Neo could feel the impending darkness slowly loom over she gives a silent form of thanks that her phone can at least act as a light should the time come for it. She was not ready to end her expedition just yet. Heterochromic eyes scan the immediate area that’s in front of her. This scene very much reminds her of the doomed settlement project on Mt. Glen back at her home, with nothing but broken rubble and discarded trash, dumpsters opened and closed and wild shrubbery coming out of the side of buildings. Occasionally she would spot the wildlife scurrying about, and she poises herself to strike. Even if she doesn’t have her signature parasol, she still has martial ability to defend herself. What she expected was hostile creatures of Grimm to show up growling and prowling about, but instead she found normal wildlife scurrying about instead mostly leaving her alone. Neo relaxes, the tension visibly leaving her shoulders as she exhales. She mentally chides herself for working herself up for nothing, until she heard another noise from behind her.
Rapidly turning, Neo hitches her breath and her multicolored eyes change to a singular white as she tenses up to face whatever dared to sneak up on her. She spots a brown haired, scrawny person who may seem just as equally surprised to come across someone snooping around these darkened and nearly forgotten alleyways. There is a tense silence in the air as Neo wouldn’t move an inch until she gets a visual confirmation of what the other is doing. She hasn’t personally seen this figure before, and after what seems like an eternity passing, cautiously begins to sign at the stranger, still keeping a watchful eye.Â
‘What are you doing here?’
