“i thought you only kept that tone for house. i must be bordering on disorderly.” at least she certainly is drunk. and wilson is patient, stern - as seemingly light-hearted as he is when admonishing her boss. but she’s deep in thought and quick to brush off the offer, divert away from it as she takes another pull from a sweating pint of beer. thoughts of house linger like a dark cloud. “-- do you find me unaggressive?”

“i’m drinking water,” she haughtily insists, holding up her drink, the ice clinking against it’s sweating glass walls. cameron purses her lips, one side of her mouth plucked up in a loose smirk as she shoots him a sidelong glance. “well -- it’s clear like water... and it just so happens this bar serves peanuts seasoned with wildly sobering properties.” she nods, utterly full of shit and desperate to shy away from his very good points. she just wants to let go. her eyes narrow at him. “though considering you’re already forewarning me of tomorrows problems, i’d say you need less peanuts and more vodka.”

“you’re not the only one stuck in a lab at two in the morning.” but it’s mostly her lack of caffeine talking and she quickly remembers that house is not stuck here and can abandon her in this centrifuge hell whenever he wants. “sorry, i just--,” cameron pauses to rub her eyes, then raises her chin, slipping pointedly back into business. “the fatigue, the rash, the strep. i really thought mononucleosis. it fits.” a sigh fills her beat and then she’s looking with a furrowed brow down at the patient’s chart. “that, or rubella... meningococcal?”
