Stiles is trying his very hardest to pay attention to the movie in front of them. It's their first official date night, and he wants to make a good impression. Not that he needs to, when Nova has seen probably most everything that's ever gone through his head at any given time. But he still wants to try.
He's decidedly not thinking about how much he wants to kiss her, or about how close they're sitting next to each other under this blanket. Nope, no, sir. He's focused on the movie, and nothing else. He blushes a bit redder every time he catches his mind wandering.
Well, today has been an eventful day. Thankfully, all the excitement from earlier seems to have settled down so now she can prepare for her date in peace. With a few clicks and swipes of her tablet, mellow music floods the room.
....is it weird that she chose to play her beau’s music while getting ready for a date with him?
Once her outfit is picked out — absolutely NOT an Azumarill bunny suit, thank you very much! — and stretched out across her bed, she gets started on her makeup. Her Espeon and Glaceon both take this chance to invade the bed and curl up with each other, mercifully around Rosa’s clothes rather than on top of them. Arceus knows she doesn’t have the time to brush off all that fur.
Her phone buzzes with a text alert, reminding her that Curtis will be here to pick her up in ten minutes. Whoops... better hurry up.
She slips on her outfit and a pair of strappy heels — not the peak of comfort but who cares, they’re CUTE — and dons a pair of rose-gold rose-shaped earrings to polish off her look. A final once-over in her full-body mirror and... ready! With not a second to spare...
Slipping her phone and a small makeup bag into her purse, she bids goodbye to the two Eeveelutions and heads out the door to meet Curtis.
The sing song, almost amused tone of the Prince lilted from just behind Jovanni. It wasn't particuarly common for Stolas to wander into Imp city, however he had buisness to tend to that he felt the other might find interesting. And having been told he hung around the IMP office it had seemed an easy enough starting point.
" I was wondering, since you seemed so interested in getting to the surface during our last chat, if you'd be interested in accompanying me to the mortal realm? I have to pay a visit to someone I have a contract with. But after a brief stop we can take in city."
Darcy was a little dressed up herself. There wasn’t a cozy knit to be seen. Instead her hair was curled, her makeup was done, there were even heels on her feet. “You’ve got twenty minutes and then I’m taking you out.”
“I mean, like out on the town, not taking you out like... bang bang,” she fired finger guns, red lips grinning. “Oh, wait!” She suddenly remembered, popping open her bag. “I was gonna be cute, but then I remembered it’s fuckin’ January so here.” She pulled a fake flower out of her bag, holding it out to him as if it was the loveliest of date night roses. “Pour vous!”
She smiled at him, holding out the flower, pink silk petals and plastic stem looking nothing like the real thing. “I don’t actually care what you wear,” she stage whispered, holding her hand to her mouth like she was telling a secret. “We’re not going anywhere that fancy.”

When Emerson told her that she had a plan for date night, Lisette responded the way she always did when Emerson had a plan - nodded and went along, not asking any more questions than necessary. So once she was dressed in casual clothes with a beanie on her head, she followed her Miss to the car without further ado.
Their first stop, Chipotle, turned out not to be their only stop - in fact, as Lisette got buckled back into the car with Emerson it drove off in the opposite direction of the school. Lisette shot her a curious look, but the smile on Emerson’s face was much like the cat who got the cream, and it was plain to see that there would be no answers forthcoming. So she turned on the stereo instead, bopping along to a Disney playlist courtesy of her iPod as they drove until they hit the beach. And periodically, every few seconds, she looked over at Emerson’s smile - it made her heart to funny little flips in her chest, and Lisette found she liked the feeling.
With the car parked, Emerson climbed into the back seat and put the seats down. Then, and only then, did Lisette understand. The trunk glowed - there were bright fairy lights set up, and warm blankets, and the purpose of it all came clear. They would sit in the back, tucked under blankets, eating warm food and simply being with each other as they watched the sunset.
As they settled in, Lisette could only shake her head in wonder. "You are the perfect girlfriend."
Emerson just blushed in response, lost for words except "I.. No baby I'm not."
Lisette smiled. "Miss Emry, you...I don't think you even see it. Fauna rebuilt me. But that was just like...the bones of a house. You've decorated me. Given me a relationship that I can be proud of, one where I'm never forced to do disgusting things for someone else's amusement. Where I know that my partner wants to hear what I have to say, and doesn't just keep me gagged like a toy. All these bright colors on me, now, they're because of you. She rebuilt me - you made me whole."
Warm tears dotted Emerson’s cheeks as she kissed her softly. "Sweet girl.. Darling amazing woman. Don't discount yourself of the work you put in, and how much happier and brighter you make my life... My father broke me, and I had to find myself... Tell myself everyday loving women isn't a sin or wrong, that no one was going to hurt me for doing it, and by the time I was ready 13 years later you walked into my life and helped me open my heart up... You make me feel safe to be who I am, and it's easy to decorate and make you whole because you've done the same for me, my girl.”
Lisette teared up, but she listens oh so carefully to every word Emerson had to say. There was a kiss first, and when she pulled back a little she rested their foreheads together. "I can't promise much, but I can promise you this. You are always safe with me. And I never, never want you to be anyone but who you are. Your father has no power here, not over me and you. My heart will defend yours to the last.”
Emerson just pulled her in close and had to take a deep breath so she just didn't end up sobbing and kissed her one last time before curling up with her to watch the sunset. "You're my future sweet girl."
The kiss left her trembling, just a little, and she curled into Emerson to look out at the sunset. "And you're mine, Mistress. You're mine."
The breakup almost didn’t feel real. They acted almost the same around one another, minus the romance. Still filmed the show. But at the same time, something was missing. Us. The word didn’t have that meaning anymore. They had been a couple for ages, and suddenly they weren’t. It made her feel empty.
She couldn’t explain herself. Because she didn’t know why. A stupid mistake on her part. She never needed time away from him, but for some reason, she felt like she had. A feeling that disappeared quickly. They talked here and there, never as often as before. She was glad he agreed to a date. She wanted to talk, apologize. For that very reason, she asked for the date to be at his place. Maybe they could just sit on the sofa and talk, have a glass of wine. Nothing fancy, not yet.
She got dolled up, took an Uber over to his. Arrived on time, and hesitated at his doorstep. Nervous. She took a deep breath, then knocked on his door.
To say that the past few days were stressful would be an understatement. He’d spent it running around, trying to figure out this whole new family situation in between school work and hero-ing.... it was tough, and it didn’t leave much time for Teddy, which was stressing him out even more.
So when Teddy suggested going out for lunch in the park together, Billy was more than excited to oblige. They had gotten some food together, thrown it in a basket, and thrown shoes on, Billy more than excited to just relax in the park with him. “Ready to go?” he called through their apartment, standing at the door with a lazy smile on his face, grinning widely as he saw Teddy and reached out to take his hand so they could go.
There’s a squeal of tyres as he pulls up in his silver audi, he hops out of the car with a swagger in his step, and seconds later he’s knocking on her door. To all outward appearances, he’s cool and calm, every inch the billionaire superhero, confidence and charm oozing from every line of his body. The only sign of his inner turmoil is the unnaturally tight grip on the exquisite multicoloured bunch of roses in his right hand.
It’s absolutely ridiculous, being nervous, he thinks, because this is Pepper. But this is the first time that Tony Stark has dated a woman without the sole intent of sleeping with her. Not that he doesn’t want to sleep with Pepper. But he wants to do this right, more than anything. He will never forgive himself if he screws this up. Roses, dinner -- it’s as simple as it could be. But it’s their first date, and it means EVERYTHING to him.
So he stands at her door, a nonchalant smirk fixed in place, while his thoughts whirl around his head at a thousand miles per hour.
