Asking these two to be in the same room was a bad idea, but Codie wasn’t sure if she could go through with it if they weren’t. When she’d asked them initially, she made sure to let them both know they’d be there. And that she needed them. More than anything, she needed them. With the components laid out on the floor, she finished drawing the last symbol with her chalk and lit the candles-- then took her place in the middle of all of it. Her palms are placed flat against the floor, eyes closed, while she begins the process. Almost immediately, her head rolls back ( as do her eyes ), and she feels the tendrils of something deeper and darker calling out to her. In her mind’s eye, she pleads with it to give her the power she desires-- Feels as it rushes out to her and her eyes snap back, though clouding with black.
She doesn’t see her dorm room anymore, nor does she see Devon or Murphy-- She sees the retreating form of Dean Mortcombe and two other professors she recognizes from her sessions with them. The fear slams against her chest, clenching and forcing her heart to beat erratically as she tries to take stock of what’s in the room. The words that are being said are muffled, but she sees, as the door opens and the professors leave, what looks to be a long hallway of cells. The door closes and runes flash and seal it. She recognizes the enchantments, but not the execution. As the girl turns her head to the side, she sees the same types of runes covering the entire floor and all the walls she can see. When the girl looks down, she sees metal cuffs etched in different runes.. before she can take the time to recognize them, she’s ripped from the vision and thrown back into her dorm room.
Where she collapses completely, chest heaving. Blind for a few seconds too long, the fear doesn’t dissipate, but instead clutches and rips at her throat, a scream tearing its way through her vocal cords.
