Hard Work Pays Off // Megan & Harrison
When Ramona had told her she was being reassigned from the Tidal King to Tsar Scimitar she hadn’t been told jack about taking the reins and being made a lead. Correction: THE lead. As in Chief Engineer. What the hell had Ramona been smoking and not sharing? Obviously it had been pretty damn good given that she had taken a leave of absence.
Now, that’s not to say that Megan hadn’t risen to the occasion, and quickly. But a week’s notice would have been nice. It would have given her more time to study the Jaeger thoroughly as a whole; not just focus on the part she had believed was her priority. Now everything was her priority.
The first week had been tough; trying to remember names, get a grasp on the progress being made and why some things were further along than others… In short: it had been hell, but she’d be damned to let anyone now under her see how worked up she was. By the following week names came easier, she recognized who busted their ass and who sat on their ass believing she wouldn’t notice, and she knew who the brown nosers were. The week after that progress was being made: the EMP transmitter was finally ready to be tweaked and calibrated before being given the final ok to be integrated permanently. This made her happy.
Megan is making her way across the bay, fingers working on twirling long brown hair into a bun on the top of her head when she hears her name being called out from the direction she had just come from.
“Yo!” She calls out in return, slowing just a bit and doing an about face, head bowed as she finishes tying her hair. When she looks up she’s pulling her tablet out from it’s place under her arm, hazel eyes bright, expectant expression on her face.
