Hooked

There was a smug grin on Zelo’s face as he slid the money into one of his leather jacket’s inner pockets. The bass of the club’s music pounded in his chest like a second heartbeat as he easily made his way through the crowd of entitled rich kids that surrounded him. Honesty wasn’t exactly what his job was about, so he’d sold a couple of grams for a way-too-high price - assholes like that practically threw their money at him the second he told them it was one-of-a-kind or made with super rare ingredients or something.
He plopped down on one of the bar stools and ordered his usual drink. At uni, he was Junhong, the slightly awkward, always stressed student with too-long legs. But here he was Zelo, the one who people begged to.
Taking a sip of his drink, Zelo ran his hand over his jacket, satisfied at the feeling of the bulging pockets. His eyes wandered over the other people in the club, stopping on one particularly attractive man. Still feeling the confidence that always came after a successful deal, Zelo didn’t bother hiding the fact he was ogling the stranger, his gaze running appreciatively up and down the other’s body. For a few seconds, their eyes met, and Zelo set down his drink with the intention to stand up and head over there.
Then one of his clients blocked his path. An annoyed sigh left Zelo’s lips, but he knew he couldn’t deny this woman her request. And so he led her to a dark corner, hoping the handsome stranger was watching, hoping he’d think something else was going on. It was in Zelo’s nature; he wanted attention, he wanted to be desired.
The deal went over smoothly. The woman was one of Zelo’s best clients, and by now they had an easy system going on. It was only a few minutes later that Zelo was back at the bar, adjusting his ripped jeans and looking back over the club - if he was lucky, the handsome stranger would join him for a drink or more.
