« closed starter for @fatedbeginnings based on falling inn love »
There had been moments when Jasmin wondered if she was making the right choice. If she should put her pride aside and simply take the signs life was offering her that renovating and rebuilding an inn was way beyond her abilities. But Jasmin Knight was nothing if not stubborn and her years as a veterinarian had taught her over and over again that the signs life throws at you can’t always be trusted. How many times had an animal she had been working on shown all signs that they were too far gone only to make a miraculous recovery by the next morning? That was exactly what Jasmin intended to happen with this inn. She was going to give it a miraculous recovery if it was the last thing she did.
Clad in her oversized, work-overalls and a sports bra, the brunette was listening to her favorite Stevie Wonder album as she worked on ‘gutting’ the living room, when she heard the tell-tale signs of a car driving down the inn’s long driveway. She glanced out of the front window only to duck out of sight from the familiar vehicle.
Redford Hargrove, aka the bane of her existence, was pulling into the parking spot beside the truck she had inherited with the inn. She really did not need his cocky, know it all attitude telling her all the things she was doing wrong today. Leaning forward, she peaked just a tiny bit through the window again only to find him approaching the front door. Leaning back so he wouldn’t see her, she fully intended on pretending like she wasn’t here in the hopes that he’d just leave. Her plans were in vain though. Because as she leaned against the curtain, the curtain rod, which had always been rocky to begin with, finally broke free from whatever had been holding it to the wall and came crashing to the floor, sending her diving out of the way with a little yelp. So much for not letting him know she was there.
