“Y’know something? I think I could totally pull off this bikini.” Matt held up the neon orange two-piece, the kind of color that practically screamed parking cone! He’d packed it more as a joke than anything else, not seriously planning to rock it.
“Don’t worry, I won’t traumatize you by strutting around in this thing,” he added with a laugh, bumping his shoulder playfully against Jaz’s. “My speedo will be more than enough.” He cackled at his own nonsense, then rummaged through his backpack and pulled out a much tamer pair of dark blue swim trunks. Normal and boring. At least it won't get him kicked out. His own theatrics, though? That may earn him the boot.
“Meet you out here in a few,” he grinned, holding up the trunks. “I brought sun screen, too. Figured we could slather each other up once we snag a couple of loungers. And if there’s none free, we can always sweet talk the lifeguard into letting us hang out in his fancy shaded chair. I’ll even promise not to touch his whistle… much.” He shot her a wink, clearly enjoying every second of his own ridiculousness.
