When did she get the idea that she knew how to care for a dog? Did losing her dog already prove that this was more of a selfish investment? Her guilt burned her throat the same way the autumn air did while she ran. Wind whipping strands of hair in her eyes while Vex kept a steady chase after, Noctis, her large and very rowdy dog. She wasn’t prepared for the strong pull he had; she swore he would bark and chase after nothing but passing spirits sometimes. Their chase lasted all of two minutes before Noct bounded around a corner and into the back of a delivery door.
Vex came to a quick halt - ‘Trespassers Will Be Prosecuted’ sign glaring at her. A delivery truck parked closeby, door wide open and nobody in sight. Vex nervously chewed her lip, it wasn’t as though she was trying to steal, she was just looking for her dog and how could anyone be upset at that? She breathed in deeply and crossed the boundary.
Taking a few minutes to silently look around, there was no sign of Noctis before an echoed bark caught her attention. It drew her out from the back and into what she assumed was the main area - a club it looked like? It was fascinating, expertly designed and decorated. Vex was compelled to the middle of the room, wide-eyed and in awe of a place she never knew existed.
She mumbled to herself, “I should really leave.” almost as though her own guides spoke through her.
