Constant Togetherness [sam-nd-eric]
Jack let a quiet sigh escape him as he sat upon his log and surveyed the area which - he felt he could say fairly - now belonged to him. Well, his tribe, if you wanted to get technical. But he was Chief of his boys and therefore it was his.
Roger sat a ways away, taunting a twitchy and bruised Wilfred. Maurice, Bill and Robert were on the edge of the rock by the sea, their legs hanging off the edge, dangling over the water. Jack watched, mildly amused, as Bill gave Robert a playful shove and he shunted forwards, grabbing at the rock, flailing and cursing at the other boy. Maurice scolded the both of them, but the smile on his own face was telling.
A few littluns were scattered here and there, some playing with the picked bones of the last pig they'd all eaten, others taking ash from the remains of the fire, using the mess to further cover themselves as the elder boys had with clay.
And what of their two new tribesmen? Or was it one? Samneric were practically a single entity rather than two separate people. They certainly acted like it. Wasn't it weird to be with the same person all the time? It seemed strange. Jack supposed it must be a twin thing. But it was still odd.
Standing and stretching, he made his way over to see them.
