{ ♠ - It was supposed to be a normal day. A day that was as mundane to him as could be. Just get up, find the cells, maybe meet up with Guardian in the field, and continue to take down Judgement. But that’s not what happened. There was something wrong, Magician could feel it as he went from the apartment. Guardian had left much earlier in the morning, a note was left on the worktable. }
{ ♠ - Magician didn’t read it, but had he then he would’ve known that something was wrong. That Guardian had heard strange sounds early in the morning when he got up and, inevitably, pushed the blue-skin off of his chest. }
{ ♠ - The world looked normal, the citizens cast their hateful glances his way, but the air felt electrified. Time almost felt as though it was ticking in slow motion, yet everything else moved fluidly. The HUD reassured that everything was normal but in the end the companion was a small robot, floating beside him, and couldn’t feel what he was feeling. }
{ ♠ - Without any solid proof that something was off, however, Magi went out into the field. He had monsters to kill and cells to deactivate. Guardian couldn’t possibly defeat Judgement on his own, so he has to do it too. So off he went, into the North where the snow would get into every crevice and make his lungs ache and head hurt. }
{ ♠ - When he returned home, the reaffirmation of what he felt returned. He had forgotten about the mysterious morning up until this point. The lights in the town were off, night had permeated every crevice, save for the town’s center. The entrance to the abyss glowed, sure, but there was a red and yellow light beside it. Faint music echoed from beside it and that’s what really tipped Magician off. }
{ ♠ - He approached only to find... he was correct. This circus was not here, in fact he didn’t even know what a circus was. He just knew this was a travelling show, he had never been to one prior so he found himself a lot more confused than he’d prefer. }
{ ♠ - Approaching carefully, despite the townsfolk obvious reproach, Magi investigated the tents curiously. }
