luna plopped down across from her best friend, an evil grin playing on her lips as she looked at him. “i’ve been working on something,” she started and opened up her purse, “and i think you’re going to love it.” the woman added. she dug out a well put together wedding planning book, one where she’d painted the outlines of both axel and nate on the outside. she knew they weren’t ready for this but she thought it would be fun to make anyways. she slid it across the table for him and giggled to herself, her bottom lip coming between her teeth in attempt to mute her giggles. “what do you think?”

the girl almost felt like her hunt for axel was pretty much useless at this point. she figured that maybe after three weeks she would be able to find him but it was clear she was wrong. at this point, luna didn’t really know what to do. she was lost and she felt like she didn’t belong anywhere anymore and there was no going back to the other pack. she’d lost control in front of humans and she didn’t want to show her face around there anymore. only god knows what would happen if she did. she was walking through town when she caught a familiar scent and her head snapped in the direction, her eyes landing on axel and a sigh of relief leaving her lips. she didn’t hesitate to approach him, “finally,” she breathed out. “i’ve been looking everywhere for you. why’d you leave me?”

luna couldn’t believe her brother was officially married. axel had finally tied the knot and after a couple of glasses of wine (or maybe too many to count), she made her way over to axel and wrapped her arm around him without warning. “you’re married.” she said, as if he didn’t already know. she squeezed him and pulled back, cupping his face and grinning at him. tears found their ways into her eyes, “i’m so happy for you. you deserve the world, axel!” she announced and hugged him again, sniffling softly. “i love you, you know that? and don’t forget about me just because you’re married.”

“tonight’s the night.” luna breathed out and smoothed over axel’s collar. she was excited for him. she really couldn’t believe this was happening because she remembered how against marriage he’d been when it came to jess and now, here he was getting ready to propose to nate. “are you ready?” she asked, smiling at him. if he was going to spend the rest of his life with anyone, luna was glad it was nate. “don’t be nervous, okay? i’m positive he’s going to say yes.”

“okay, okay!” luna exclaimed, shaking her head as she let out a small laugh. “i’ll tell you how it went. i didn’t think it was that big of a deal.” but it was. luna didn’t date often and axel knew how much she struggled with it, “we went to the beach and i drew him, which i was nervous about because he could’ve hated it or thought it was weird but he didn’t...” she paused, biting back a smile, “and he said he was going to frame it.” she was excited about that because for one, it meant he liked the drawing and she also hoped that meant he liked her too, “and then we got in the water after that and...it was really nice.” she breathed out, leaning her head back a little as they walked, “i think i really like him.”

luna looked like a mess and she knew that she looked like a mess but seeing kwan had thrown her off. everything that he said, she was convinced that he was only saying to try and make up the fact that she left. she figured he hunted her down because he didn’t have anyone left, especially if he made a habit of leaving people. she knew she needed to get this all off of her chest and if anyone was going to listen to her, it was axel. she made her way to his shared place with nate and knocked on the door, a sigh leaving her lips as he opened the door. “axel...” she frowned. “something...happened.”

“-axel! i seriously can’t believe you.” luna said as he opened the door and socked him in the arm but not enough to actually hurt him. “i just wanted you to meet him but i really didn’t mean for you to say all that. i’m telling nate. i’m gonna bring your boyfriend on my side and you know what we’re going to do? we’re going to shoot you with a bunch of nerf guns.” she wouldn’t actually do that but she just wanted him to know how embarrassed she was. she walked further into his place and rubbed her hands over her face as she plopped onto the couch, “luka’s never going to let me live any of that down.”
