checking in (w&m)

There’s a chime somewhere -- from the pitch of it, Wonshik sleepily determines it’s the buzzer for the main entrance to the observatory ringing. The observatory is closed to the public today and he doesn’t have work; he could stay in bed if he wanted to and ignore the ringing, but a glance at the clock and how late he’s slept makes him sigh wearily. He rises, wiping at his eyes and pulling on sweatpants, shivering a little as the scales that had crawled across his skin in his sleep recede back into hiding. “Be there shortly,” he mumbles. As he slips on his shoes, something swoops down behind him, tiny claws dragging down the soft cotton of his shirt and right in his ear is the soft chirping of a bat. “G’morning, ‘Cula. You want something to eat, baby?” There’s soft bat fuzz at the back of his neck, and claws digging into his back as she flies off, startled by the doorbell ringing again. “Guess not, huh?” After checking the peephole, he’s quick to open the door, and beam at the young man on the other side. “Marc! Ah, good morning. To what do I owe this visit?” Wonshik runs his fingers through his hair into something slightly less sleep worried and opens the door wider. “...Oh, but come on in. You bring hyung anything?” he teases.
