As much as he deserved the bloody nose it was no surprise that this had happened. She’d rarely gotten punished for her fights with the Prince but what else could this be? Ordered to go exploring the valley with him, why hadn’t they told one of the higher ranking guards to go with him? Or better yet a fellow white uniform? It was clearly punishment, something neither of them were happy about- though perhaps it would not be overly obvious to any outside observers seeing as how they’d been silent since they reached the edge of the cliffs they were exploring.
This silence was finally broken as a sound was heard off in the distance. The skies had been cloudy that day but nothing was thought of it; the air was warm as always and she had been too distracted by anger to bother paying attention to the weather. A glance over towards the river leading to the waterfall near the beginning of the valley was a clear indication she should have paid attention. The river was more volatile today, the waters higher; it had been raining in Hyrule and judging by the clouds Zenzi could only assume it was going to rain here.
There was no time to head back to the fortress, the clouds were swiftly turning darker and they had wandered too far. Had it been normal rain she would not worry, that distant sound had her on edge though especially seeing how the river had risen. Reluctantly she turned to her companion with a serious expression on her face (she prayed her eyes did not show the fear that had her heart loudly thumping in her chest) and gathered her pride enough to speak of her concerns to him.
“I don’t know if you heard that but I don’t want to be out here when the rain starts. We need to find somewhere to take shelter until it passes.”
