  Ah, and to think he had been doing pretty good avoiding Hideyoshi, being in a different kingdom and all. It was hard to do that when he specifically came to visit him though. He hadn't told anyone he was avoiding him, after all, so it wasn't anyone's fault. Just bad luck, he guessed. Hanbei was facing away from Hideyoshi, trying to pretend he wasn't there, but that wasn't easy. He can only do it for so long, and finally turns his head to look at him over his shoulder.

  "What are you doing here?" His voice grows quite quiet. "Don't you---?" Ah, his voice cracked. Hanbei looked away once more, his voice shaky when he tried asking again.

  "Don't you find me gross....?"

  It wasn't often Kanbei was on his own, especially since coming to the castle. However, he was good at remembering the layout of places, and had made it his personal mission to figure his way around the castle, so he could have a mental map of the place. It'd be real helpful to Hanbei, who got lost easier.

  His exploration was cut short, as something seemed to catch his ear. It sounded almost familiar, and he stopped to listen. He wished he could've figured it out sooner as a wave of whispers and shouts and vengeance and anger almost knocked the unprepared child off his feet. He couldn't move and couldn't think until it had finally fully receded, and he pressed his back against the wall and slid down to the floor, almost blacking out. Someone calling his name snapped him back though, he blinked, finding Hideyoshi crouched down in front of him.

  Hanbei's confused for a few moments before it hits him, and the realization leaves an almost bitter taste in his mouth. But that wasn't right. Shouldn't be be happy Hideyoshi didn't understand? Or maybe he just wanted so desperately for him to, now that those words had left his lips, finally spoken aloud. He looks away before steeling his nerves.

  "Th-there was another thing I was supposed to do, but I--- I didn't want to just---- didn't want to just do it without your permission. Since I know it will probably make you uncomfortable. I'm, uh-----" Get it over with Hanbei. "I'm supposed to kiss you."

  He knew it wouldn't be long before Hideyoshi noticed Hanbei's absence. Though usually he would disappear to find some place to take a nap-- how he managed to sleep in the rafters was still a mystery to Kanbei-- it was soon quite obvious that Hanbei was no where to be found. Kanbei's face was a mask as he stared at his lord, who was awaiting an answer as to where the smaller strategist was.

  "Hanbei is staying in Greenleaf, Lord Hideyoshi."

  The Ghost-type stares at Hideyoshi with an almost apologetic and sorrowful look.

  "Well, sweeten my potatoes, if it ain't Mr. Fancy Monkey Pants himself. What'ch'y'all doin' way out here? Didn' think a farm would be on yer lis' o' places t' visit."

  He's honestly surprised he's yet to see Hideyoshi since waking up. Though, knowing him, Kanbei had to drag him away to get something or eat. Or maybe Hiroko did, and that's why she was there when he woke up. At any rate, Hanbei sits on the bed, blanket over his legs and Raichu sleeping in his lap--- ah, there he was. Hanbei grins as he sees him enter.

  "Mornin', Lord Hideyoshi!"

  Hideyori laughs as he uncovers his father's eyes and runs to the front of him. "It is me, Papa! See? I stumped ya, didn't I?"
