Rey slunk out of the room she had met with Snoke in like someone who’s pride had been severely hurt. She’d tried so hard, trained so long to be as strong as she could possibly be, and yet here she was - in levels of shame that rivalled even the physical pain she was in. How hard had she trained to be a successful Knight, and she could barely even limp towards her quarters.
When Rey returned to her room, she shut the door and sat down with a heavy sigh. Her body was exhausted and shook with frustration, and before she could even begin to un-bandage the blaster wound on her shoulder she felt a sob wrack her body. She felt beyond pathetic that she couldn’t even avoid a blaster to the shoulder and a punch to the face, after everything she’d trained to do - the heat of the moment had proven too much. Snoke had directed nothing but anger towards her. While the mission was a success, she was a failure.
Looking at the wound on the shoulder she grimaced, pulling a face as she looked at how the skin around it had swollen and coloured a funny shade of greenish-purple. It was infected, but she hardly cared, taking a gloved finger from the opposite hand and poking it into the hole in her shoulder.
Rey couldn’t help but cry out with pain, but instead of the anger she hoped to feel, she instead just let out another sob and felt hot tears run down her cheeks.
