          with everything that had been going on in their lives lately, aslan wanted to do something to help the three of them relax. and he had hoped some time out of huntsville would do the trick. the drive had been manageable and after they were able to check in without any hiccups, he got them all settled into their room. “so, what should we do first?” he asked, sitting on one of the beds, pulling melek onto his lap. “skiing, ice skating? anyone hungry?”

"i'm not the most social person, but you do intrigue me." abigail walks behind the counter, grabbing a piece of chocolate. "here. take this. it's one of my best chocolates, and i hand wrap them. and then tell me more about you."

aslan walked into the kitchen, smiling at dilan as they made their way to make a fresh pot of coffee. "morning," he greeted while waiting for the coffee to brew, turning to lean against the counter. "so, i was thinking, with spring break coming up and melek's birthday around the corner, we could tie the two together and take her somewhere?" it had been a rough adjustment at first, raising a kid with melek, but aslan felt dilan and himself had found a good groove and had been making it work. "i don't think work will be an issue, but i don't know if you have any plans coming up with graham," aslan commented, hoping his voice sounded even when referring to graham.

"well, what if one of the princess doesn't like peanut butter and jelly?" aslan asked melek, cutting off the crust to the sandwich in question and preparing to cut it into triangles. prepping for their weekly tea party with melek's teddies was never something aslan thought they would look forward to, but there he was, debating if he should offer more options, knowing full well just the two of them would consume whatever was made. "what if we did-" aslan was cut off by a knock at the door, causing the child to jump from her seat at the table and rush to the door. "melek, wait for me please," aslan called out, following behind her, but too late as she had already had the door half open. "oh. um, were you meeting dilan?" they asked once they registered graham.
