"Hey," Mari greeted Carmen, a hint of relief crossing her face at seeing the other brunette - the boisterous energy of the carnival wasn't exactly her thing, much more at home in a more...refined environment. But who didn't love a carnival ride? "Wanna go on one of the rides with me?" she asked, her tone sweet, nearly musical, as she suggested it, bumping her shoulder against Carmen's as she fell into step beside her - the movement subtle enough it could've simply just been her adjusting her stride to walk beside her.

having sent a final text, ellie tossed her phone onto her bed and collapsed onto the floor of her bedroom. she hadn’t been kidding when she told carmen she’d find her ‘on the floor with a bottle of white.’ in fact, the bottle was propped up just beside her, some light from the window gleaming through the glass and throwing prisms across her skin and any nearby objects. if you were standing just on the other side of the door, you’d hear a muffled version of sonny cleveland’s you’ve got me running in circles. the entire thing was like something out of a coming of age film. a pretty fucked up one, but still. the girl flipped from her back to her stomach, reaching for the bottle just as someone knocked on the door. standing up, ellie reached for the satin robe that’d been resting over a chair, threw it on, and went to open it. “i believe it’s been thirty-two minutes, carmen,” she chastised, taking a few steps back to let her in. “we have much to talk about. i’m still reeling over fright night. wine?”

He was working on a different set, but it wasn't like his active participation was needed. Instead, he asked one of the crew to let him know if the team working on Grease took a break. They were nice enough to humor him, letting him know when that crew was taking a lunch break. Adam knew he'd be able to find her in her trailer, likely trying to relax for a short while.

"Carmen?" he called gently as he knocked, opening the door to step inside. When he saw her there, he felt his body relax, calmed by seeing her even if it ended up being a brief visit. "Hey, sweetheart," he hummed, a warm smile on his face. She looked so cute in her bright outfit. "Having a good day?"

Jacqui was sick of playing this game. And yet, when they got the texts - they didn't want to go, even if it would put a stop to it. But after those other texts, the rave, the run-in with Parker....they didn't want to risk it. Who knew was on the other end of these texts, whose path may have been instructed to cross Jacqui's this time? So they slipped away from the gala, grateful for their lug-soled loafters that made their steps easy to muffle as they moved towards the exit so they could make their way to the Commons. They were nearly there, turning a corner in the path when they nearly crashed into someone - Carmen and their path crossing...or was intersecting? "Shit, sorry," Jacqui said, their eyes darting between her and the building not too far away now. Should they ask - are you also responding to a mysterious text that summoned you in this direction? "I wasn't expecting anyone else out here."

who: @carmenhearst when: sometime past midnight where: the warehouse rave

Carmen may not have seemed like the type of person Cara was typically friends with, but she did like her. Even with the fact that she had gotten along with Greer as well. But as different as they were, this type of party was not the type that Cara really expected to see Carmen at. The echo of another party, nearly a year ago, flashed through Cara's mind when she spotted her. The school year waning, Carmen, Cara...and the last time Greer had shown her face.

An ominous memory, one that Cara brushed off as due to the annoying texts.

And maybe the fact that she was a little high. Paranoia, and all.

Determined to think about tonight, and not that other party, Cara flashed a coy smirk at Carmen as she shook of the guy she was dancing with to instead approach the brunette, her head angled towards a shoulder. "If I had known you were into raves, I would've been inviting you out with me more often," she said, arching up an eyebrow. "Unless..." Cara let her voice trail off, eyes boring into Carmen's, the dangling hook about what had brought Cara there waiting for her to grab it.

for fuck’s sake. elizabeth could already feel the liquid seeping through her shirt, a blushy pink taking to the white linen, mouth slightly parted in shock and embarrassment as she assessed the damage. she’d been leaning against the calloway kitchen island, elbows holding her weight, when she’d started to turn around. the first elbow to make the rotation immediately collided with something—or, rather, someone—but by the time she realized, it’d been too late. she felt it before she saw it, a quiet gasp catching in her throat. “shit, i’m sorry,” the girl began once she’d fully turned around, fighting off a laugh. “you okay?” it was almost comical, her asking that as she stood with her arm and torso partially soaked in what was her drink. taking a pause, she looked back at carmen and sighed in amusement. “first the bathroom fire, now this? it’s a sign. the universe is calling me a dumbass for making a drink at three in the afternoon, i just know it.” @carmenpeck​

CASSIOPEIA II: 

        the nuances of human interaction and contact are still so very new to cassiopeia.  she’s yet to get a handle on either, as well as the natural responses she has to them.  as a celestial phoenix, she has this ability to share feelings and sensations.  that is:  when her arms lace around carmen, pulling her in for this gesture known as a human ‘hug’ (one used for affection, she’s learning), everything that cassiopeia feels emotionally is transferred to carmen, too.  there’s wonder, warmth, and a sense of safety that she offers the other girl.  the sensations will linger for a moment, even after the hug is through.  it stays with cassiopeia, too, and she smiles broadly, opalescent eyes shining with every color across the spectrum–like light refracting through some otherworldly crystal.

         “yes,” she agrees quite enthusiastically. “yes, i agree!  this is very pleasing–the human hug.  will you teach me more gestures like it?”

CARMEN HAS never experienced anything like this... because she would absolutely remember it. it feels warm and giving in a way that’s different and unique and probably something to do with whatever cass is. she smiles, enjoying the embrace while it lasts.. soaking it in like a sunflower chasing the sun. when they part ways, somehow she feels less touch-starved and balanced. the brunette smiles and nods, “of course.” a dutiful nod, “there are a lot of things humans do that convey different things. is there anything you’re confused by currently that i could explain?” arms cross over her chest, shoulders rolling as she comfortably prepares to expel all of her knowledge, “or a curiosity, perhaps.” a welcoming grin.

EYES WIDEN, a familiar sense of urgency overwhelming carmen’s chest. her heart beats like a drum and she knows it’s not because of the coffee in her hands. it takes maybe two seconds. she passes an alley and out of the corner of her eye a glimmer. a full on.. like.. glitter. she pauses her step and pivots, scorching her hand with hot coffee in the process.  a hiss, but she’s shooting down the alley. 

IN TRUTH, carmen isn’t sure what she’s supposed to expect. her eyes widen as the form fully develops and begins to readjust to.. well.. earth? a hand lifts to scratch her head and the walking memory stick clears her throat, “you know, i’ve always thought aliens would be a little greener.”
