Let's Begin Again | Renly & Loras
Renly woke to a cold bed. It wasn't something out of the ordinary for him anymore, so in the first few groggy moments of the morning he thought nothing of it. It wasn't until he realized the light was filtering in from the wrong side of the room to be his own that he finally remembered where he was... and who wasn't beside him anymore.
Loras was gone.
Again.
Renly guessed he should have expected it. Last night was too good to be true. After everything he'd done, it was completely impractical for Loras to just let him back into his life this quickly.
He must have realized the truth of the matter and fled in the middle of the night, too polite to wake Renly and throw him out.
Sitting up, Renly rubbed his eyes, mentally preparing himself for the emotional fallout that would be hitting him at any moment. Instead, he saw Loras' note. He breathed a sigh of relief before even reading it. Deep down he'd known that the way they'd talked to each other last night...the way they'd said 'I love you'... Loras wasn't just going to walk out again.
"Gone to speak with Ibrahim. Be back in a bit. Want to grab brunch? PS- Feel free to borrow a shirt and use my toothbrush. - Loras xo"
Renly actually felt kind of bad reading it. He knew what Loras was going to do, and he pitied Ibrahim. He hadn't meant to come between them...but, what was he supposed to do? He was the one Loras loved. He tried not to think about the fact that this all harkened back to him breaking up with Loras in the first place. Not only did he hurt both of them, but now he was causing another man pain. Because naturally, Renly couldn't even consider someone not falling instantly in love with Loras. He had after all.
The decision to wait for Loras was an easy one. An alternative never even crossed his mind. Instead of bothering with cleaning up or finding a shirt he just flopped back on the bed, happy to envelope himself with Loras' scent once more. Yesterday, he'd felt like he hadn't slept in years, but today sleep came easily. He drifted back into a light snooze while he waited for his love to return.
