Nick's hands were smeared in that awful shade of red spray paint, his nails scraping at the brickwork with a ferocity barely contained, grumbling under his breath as he scrubbed at the mess. Someone's written "Freak Show" across the front of his shop in jagged letters. His jaw clenched as he was approached and he forced a tense smile, the kind of smile that barely holds back anger, and he let the words spill out in a low, dangerous tone: "If I ever find out who did this, I'd love to give them a lesson in respect." Nick flexed his fingers, each knuckle popping with a slow, deliberate snap that echoed in the silence. Of course, he never would. But the thought alone helped him cope.

Neptune had been hesitant over this, he'd caught bits and pieces based on body language and things Blue had mentioned. There wasn't much he could do about his own size but he could at least try to be as friendly. “Hey,” he greeted crouching a bit as he held out a snow cone, “I'm Neptune, I'm Blue’s cousin, you're Nick right?” there was a bit of pride said towards the end, happy Blue had let him be a part of his life.

Cyrus sat on a bench outside reading when he heard something loud. He sat his book down, looking around. "What the heck was that?"

As Roxana walked through the swarm, people lined up to go on rides, order food, and play games. She wondered if more people showed up at the carnival than on Founder's Day. At least, that's how it seems, with the number of side steps to avoid bodily collisions. A few dogs were scattered amongst the crowd, and she missed her Kiba. It would have been nice to have him here, but then she wouldn't have the freedom to go on rides, which she talked herself into attempting. At least a couple. Roxana walked past a few and stopped at the merry-go-round. Wow, that unearths childhood memories. It took her back to a time before her father ruined their family. As she recalled those happier years, Roxana's eyes drifted across the ride and spotted the only Nicolás. An automatic smile blossomed, something which came easily with him. She gradually made her way over as half the city congregated around the merry-go-round for some unknown reason. Roxana went in and gave Nico the biggest hug, thrilled to see him there. "I think this is a great place to play hide and go seek." she laughed as she approached him. "Have you ever been on this ride before? I actually didn't expect to see this here. Figured it's too tame, but kids, I suppose."

Xander pouted as he used a fork and knife to eat his burger, he could have grabbed it but he didn't want to risk dirtying his bandage. Hell it wasn't even an actual one, just a piece of cloth that he definitively didn't want soaking up burger grease. Feeling eyes on him he glanced around before spotting Nick, "Dude, not a word. I wanted a burger and I am not eating like this at the Commune. I'd get roasted alive."

Roque revealed a soft toy from inside his coat and Nick’s eyes lit up, grabbing onto it with a wide, toothy grin. He had pajamas and arm warmers on, from some ancient Halloween werewolf costume that made his arms look, if artificially, hairier than they were. He put the toy in his mouth and let out a happy whine, his eyes shutting briefly. 

“Thank you,” he murmured gruffly, as though it were difficult, “means a lot... This is very good for keeping the more dangerous instincts at bay.” Roque had taken the news quite well, really. Better than most people had, in the past. He’d explained the transformations, the dog-like qualities that overcame him, how he needed to be restrained if he was feeling angry or scared. But handcuffs usually worked. The silver metal in them was toxic to him, after all. It’s why he hated cars and barked at them. All the metal. 

The shivering slowly abated, though Nick wasn’t aware of this. “Better, now... With the blinds closed as they are, i-it’s not that painful. And I’ve noticed your-your smoke has gone down, too, the cigarette smoke. Hope your lungs feel a little better...” He buried himself down into his blankets and the shivering started up again. “You got...your ear plugs, right? For the h-h-howls? I can feel ‘em coming on, honestly, it... It’s getting pretty late into the night.” Another whine, the toy back in his mouth. Nick removed himself from his dog bed he’d made and crawled over to Roque, headbutting at his hip in appreciation (and possibly seeking out some head pets).

John glanced up to put a face with the voice that addressed him, “well, that depends on which one you’re looking for.” He replied, giving the well dressed man a look over as if sizing him up if he turned out to be an enemy. “There’s a few of us.”

Nick gave the older man a polite smile despite the way he was obviously sizing him up. There was no point reacting in such a manner that could prove him to be the enemy the man apparently suspected.  “I’m looking for the Dutton who owns Yellowstone,” Nick informed him, casually letting his hands rest in the pockets of his tailored trousers.

"Oi, Tishoca, I've got your b--," Nick was waving about the heavy tomes like it was nothing, only stopping in his tracks, when he realised it wasn't Tisha who had opened the door. "--books. Uhm... sorry. Is Tisha around? She's ordered those last week and I just got them in yesterday. Thought I'd swing by. Sorry, I'm Nick. Nick Silva. I own the little halloweeny bookshop in town. You are?"
