WHO: calum ramos. firefighter. 28-32. homosexual. alberto rosende fc. OPEN TO: m 27+ PLOT: calum got a call about someone getting stuck in a tree and so, he went to save them. surprise, they were saving their cat and also, it was the guy calum had a crush on in high school.

this couldn't be happening. the moment he hopped out of the firetruck and looked up at the person who needed saving, he almost immediately recognized them. pursing his lips, he took in a deep breath, "don't worry," he started as cooly as possible, "i'm going to get my ladder and i'm going to get you down from there. your cat too."

calum was waiting for ronny after their shift ended. the two had discussed grabbing dinner and spending the night together but he assumed the other was taking some extra time in the shower. that was the last place he’d seen him anyway but he didn’t stay behind just based on the fact that he knew he wouldn’t behave himself. “what? waiting on your boyfriend, rojas? you two are real cute.” one of the other guys said and his voice was laced with sarcasm. calum to look over at him. “what?” he asked. “you heard me. it’s obvious you two are butt buddies.”

a smile appeared on calum’s face once devon walked through the front door of the coffee shop and he waved him over to the table that he’d already gotten for the two of them. “hey,” he started, “it’s good to see you again.” and it was. sometimes it felt like calum didn’t have enough friends. he spent a lot of time working or at home and he knew he needed to get out more. “did you want to sit down for a minute before ordering or did you want to order first? i’m pretty much free until work so we can sit here for a little while.”

calum walked into his shared apartment, soaked from the rain storm he’d been caught in on the way home and kicked his shoes off. his jacket followed and then he paused, his eyes landing on matilda and silently thanking god he hadn’t taken off anything else. “you beat me home.” he stated, pausing for a couple of beats. “do you think maybe you could grab me a towel so i don’t drip all over the floor? please?” he asked, “i’ll make you dinner in return.”

calum felt special in this moment. it'd been a while since anyone had been this affectionate with him and he'd be lying if he said that he didn't enjoy it. smiling down at the other, he snapped out of the small trance as another man walked in. he was a little nervous due to their presence and he couldn't stop himself from gasping the other's hand. he knew that benji wouldn't let anything happen to him but that didn't mean the company made him comfortable. his eyebrows raised in shock at the other's words. right when things were going in a good direction between the two of them, things took a bad turn. he didn't know how much of a say he had in this situation but at the other's confession, he nodded. "i...don't want to either." he admitted softly. he still didn't know how his life was supposed to go back to normal after all of this. "what can we do?"

he had been worried his entire shift. a shift that was supposed to include ronny was soiled due to him not feeling well and he hoped that it wasn't anything too serious. coming in from work, he found his way to his shared bedroom and saw his boyfriend laying there. calum's lips pressed against his forehead, his hand rubbing against his bare back. "do you feel any better?" he quizzed softly, tilting his head to one side. "do you want any soup or, i don't know, tea? let me know what'll help and i'll get it for you. i missed you." and he was tired too but he always put ronny above himself.

calum had gotten used to sleeping next to ronny. it was pretty much a part of their routine after the two of them got off work that they ended up at one or the other’s place and in bed together. he wasn’t sure he even knew how to sleep without him anymore. groaning softly as he started to wake up from a late night sleep, he rolled over and curled into his boyfriend who was still resting himself. he nudged his nose against his jaw, kissing softly. “wake up.” he muttered softly, “i’ll make us dinner and we can spend the rest of the night relaxing.” he cooed in a deep tone.

calum wasn’t sure how he landed himself in this situation but, if you asked him, it was just his luck. he sat back on the bed, not having much else to do since he was in fact locked in here. he’d normally spend his free time with his nose in a book or scrolling mindlessly through social media but he didn’t have the luxury of either at the moment. sighing, he stared up at the ceiling. how was he going to get out of this? he didn’t have any friends due to being new to the city and he didn’t have any family either. he was stuck getting out of this situation on his own. the silence filled room was suddenly interrupted with the sound of his key going into the lock on the other side of the door and calum’s eyes met benji’s. “when are you going to let me out of here? it’s been days.”
