elena had to admit, she was worried about her relationship. she knew polygamy was something that was knew to both of her partners but from the very beginning things seemed to be going relatively well, until now. here recently she had felt as though declan was pulling away from her, away from them and she couldn't help but wonder if she was the only one that felt it. she looked over at her girlfriend after pulling her attention away from the movie they'd been watching, "adriana," she started, her fingers playing with hers, "does declan seem...distant?"

elena was surprisingly the only waitress, especially this time of night and that was because the only people that seemed to come in this late were ones that were leaving the bar or teenagers who thought it was cool to be out past eight o'clock. it was quiet and she was making small talk with the cook when the bell at the top of the door rang, indicating someone had walked in. approaching his table with a menu and a small smile, "welcome. i'm elena, know what you want to drink?" she asked sweetly. she did what she could to make sure she got a good tip, even if it meant having to put on a fake smile every once in a while.

declan wasn’t thrilled to be having this supposed meeting with his girlfriend and her best friend, one she’d apparently caught feelings for. he had never been the kind of guy to want to be with more than one person at the same time, even if in this case it was probably most guys dream. he just wasn’t that way. he sat on the patio couch, a cigarette between his fingers as adriana finally joined them and he let out a sigh.

elena smiled at her friend, “i know this probably seems totally weird that i asked you to come over out of nowhere but there’s just something i wanted to talk to you about.” she knew that there was no way she was the only one that felt the connection the two of them had. she was happy with declan but a part of her felt as though something was missing. “before i start, do you want anything to drink?” @luriddaze​

elena had always been lost in life and so, it was no surprise that she was trying to find some answer or some kind of guide. she'd been on her own since she was sixteen, leaving her friends and everyone else behind when she ran away from home. she tried to remember the last time she felt happy or safe or any sort of positive emotion, and the last time she remembered feeling that type of way was with them. after doing a little bit of research and doing probably more than she should have to track them down, she showed up at their doorstep with a defeated look on her face. "can i come in?" she asked once they answered the door.

elena was good at her job. being a waitress was all she knew it’s all she’d done since she was sixteen and she was over thirty now but there was some kind of pressure put on her whenever the group of hot guys come in and sit right in her section. it wasn’t that she couldn’t control herself around attractive people but it was just that she wasn’t used to it being a whole group of men, older men to be exactly. she stumbled through the entire night, making sure to embarrass herself before the other had a chance to leave and when he left his number, she was completely convinced that it was a joke and that the last thing he wanted was to hear from her.

the whole ordeal had slipped her mind and it was late. not only was it hot, she was sticky from spilling a milkshake on herself at work. while she would normally wait until she got home, the lake she passed on her walk there was looking more tempting than ever and without a second though, she ridded herself of her clothes and jumped right into the lake to help wash off some of her day. the last thing she expected when she resurfaced though was to see the same man that left his phone number at the diner for her just nights before.

she worked constantly and so, it was no surprise that she’d seen the other  quite a few times over the past couple of months. it was always with someone else on their arm and she couldn’t tell if the dates were really that bad or if that’s just the way the other preferred to live their life. tonight was different though. the other had showed up alone and so, elena wasted no time asking questions. “on your own tonight? i’m surprised.” she replied before joining them in the seat across from them, “that is, unless you’re waiting for them and i’m totally gonna kill the vibe?”

the last thing that elena expected was to see the same person she’d just left in bed this morning. the two had spent the night rolling around in the other’s sheets and instead of a proper goodbye, she snuck out and ran off to get ready for this now very awkward brunch.  she continued to sip on her mimosa, trying to be anything but awkward towards the other but she couldn’t help it and of course the two were seated right next to each other. she was sure they could hear her heart beating right of of her chest simply out of nerves of the whole situation. “so,” she cleared her throat, “how was everyone else’s saturday night?” she attempted in conversation.

Smelling the blood even before she rounded the corner, Elena grabbed some basics from the nearby cart and walked over to the waiting area. The injury she saw didn’t quite seem as bad as she thought though. If her nose had told her anything, there had been a lot more blood loss than what this suggested. Or maybe she was just losing her touch. 

“So what happened?” she questioned as she gestured for the redhead to follow her into the nearest examination room.
