this valentine's day is undoubtedly different from what she's accustomed to. there are no reservations at a fancy restaurant, no extravagant gifts and no grand declarations of love. however, she doesn't mind being confined in the apartment and doing nothing as long as she's spending time with him. caring isn't the first trait anyone would use to describe her, nor is it something she would typically associate with herself. nevertheless, she proves to be attentive and considerate as she takes care of him during his troublesome cold. the porridge she's prepared falls short of the culinary excellence found in the restaurants she often frequents, but it is made with genuine care. she has noticed a change in the way he looks at her, but she chooses not to address it, at least not at this moment. however, his confession that follows soon after explains the shift. it takes her a moment to find the right words. instead of succumbing to sentimentality, she responds with her usual flippant demeanour. "what can i say? you're an incredibly lucky man." she says, acknowledging that she is equally fortunate to have met him despite their untimely encounter. nevertheless, a warm smile spreads across her lips, fully blooming. "if you weren't sick and i didn’t have a show tomorrow, i'd kiss you right now." she playfully nudges his chest, as if protesting against the deprivation.
