when grant asked to see her, she'd been a little surprised. jasmine was usually the one who bothered him to keep her company but this time, it was different. the moment she heard her doorbell, she made her way to the door and opened it, waving him inside. "i was just making dinner. you're welcome to join me." she wasn't sure if he would but she thought that throwing the offer out there might be nice. the woman closed the door behind her and glanced over at the man, "everything okay? do you…want to talk about whatever's bothering you?"

Jasmine’s mind had been on the knight Jaune for hours since they had parted, and she couldn’t take it any more. She desired his company, preferably where they wouldn’t be disturbed. When he finally arrived after she sent for him, she smiled, and patted the seat next to her on the bench she was sitting on. “Come sit with me.”

jasmine knew she was growing attached and she wished she wasn’t but still, her feelings had landed her on his doorstep. was it risky? of course it was but she had taken precautions. she wasn’t completely insane and she made sure that he was home alone before she rang the doorbell to his home. she, of course, was here because she wanted to see him and she wondered if he felt the same way. wondered if he would be just as happy to see her as she was him. her eyes landed on him as he opened up the door and she offered him a small smile, a little nervous that he might turn her away. “hi,” she breathed out, her bottom lip coming between her teeth for a moment. “can i come in?” she asked, tilting her head to one side. coming inside was definitely even riskier. who knew when his wife would come home? and yet, she didn’t care. for once, she was putting her feelings first.

while she wanted to believe that she wasn't the kind of person to group one crowd of people together, she had a hard time not doing that when it came to anyone associated with her ex husband's family. so, a scowl managed to make its way onto her face at the sight of grant. she couldn't tell if he were moving to walk past her or if he were walking toward her, either way, she was going to make some sort of remark. she wasn't the type to keep her mouth shut. "my ex husband send you to give me a message? i guess my silence isn't a good enough hint that i'd prefer not to talk to him."

disappointment filled jasmine's body the moment she woke up on the couch - alone. what she thought had been a turn in events and an upgrade in their relationship, hadn't meant anything. he was gone, which she should have expected. grant had warned her early on that he didn't do the emotion stuff and so, she didn't know what she thought would happen. this was devil's junction. not some random fairytale where all of her wishes would come true. she was outside doing some gardening, trying to keep herself busy, when he pulled up in her driveway. he'd already seen her so it's not like she could pretend she wasn't home. "you must be bored if you're here." she commented as she heard his footsteps behind her.

"-you know something?" jasmine spoke as she glanced over at her friend, her french tipped manicured nails tapping against her wine glass. "it's been a little while since i've heard from emilio. i don't know if i should take that as a good thing or a bad thing." her ex husband had kept his distance since grant had stepped in and she was afraid of what that meant. at least, a part of her was. "do you think he's planning something?"

"-thank you for meeting with me again. i'm glad we could talk about yara and other than, you know, the normal teenage stuff, i really don't think that you have anything to worry about." jasmine reassured with a smile stretched over her face. "like i said, she's doing really well." she added and glanced down at her phone as it lit up. it wasn't something she'd normally do but she found herself checking her phone more often than not, hoping maybe grant would text her. she knew it was ridiculous considering but...she enjoyed his company. "sorry, my friend, grant texted me. i've been trying to talk him into joining me for dinner." she added, hoping the other would understand.

things between her and Grant had changed drastically since he saved her from Emilio. She wasn’t sure if it was the fact that the two of them managed to trauma bond or if it was because he genuinely enjoyed her company. Either way, she didn’t think that he was all that bad and she wanted to spend time with him when she could. After all, it seemed as though all her friends had someone to go to the festival with except her and so, she forced Grant to join her. “Come on, at least there’s food and wine involved. I’m sure the wine being served is a lot better than that shitty champagne we were served at the charity event.” Anything was better than that though. She still couldn’t believe how cheap the family had been. As the two approached things, she glanced up at the taller male. “Are you going to judge me if I day drink? I could use a glass of wine after my week at the school this week. Can you believe I had to pull apart two 13 year olds from killing each other over a comic book?”
