“i just saw the weirdest thing.” levi started, talking to the waitress in front of him. he wasn’t sure whether or not he should tell her because he wasn’t sure she’d believe him and he didn’t want her to think he was completely insane. “i mean,” he furrowed his eyebrows, thinking back on exactly what he saw, “it’s not normal for people to wear fangs around here, is it? it’s not even close to halloween.” he pointed out and at this point, maybe he was talking to himself. regardless of the weird things he’d seen since getting here and his sister’s persistence on trying to convince him, he was sure everything he encountered was a coincidence and it wasn’t real. “but i guess some people are really into the holidays. it’s like those people who listen to christmas music year round. they’re in the same category if you ask me.”

levi had been thinking about carter quite a bit and how things had been changing between them. while it was mostly unexpected, he wasn’t upset about it. he wasn’t really sure what kind of label to put on them or if he should put one on them at all though and he didn’t really know how to bring that up. she’d been a little distant the past couple of days and he wasn’t sure whether it was something he did or not but he did know if was his turn to check on her like she did to him. he walked into her place, dinner tucked up his arm. “carter? you home?”

levi stopped in front of the water, his arms around her as he chuckled. “don’t tell me you’re backing out now. you’re the one that wanted to do this.” he pointed out and leaned in, kissing her. “if it helps, i can kiss some of those nerves away.” he suggested teasingly and tugged her closer to him, his hand on the small of her back. carter had easily become the most important person in his life and while he had been here to bring laney home originally, he now realized how ridiculous that was because he, himself, wasn’t going anywhere now. “or do you want me to go first?”

“so,” levi started toward his brother, “i was kind of hoping to talk to you without laney.” he added as he sat down next to the man. “i was thinking about leaving the island a few weeks ago...because i got my heart broken but when i tried to get out of here, i couldn’t. i have no idea why but it was like impossible to get a plane ticket out and then, i guess i don’t want to leave anymore but do you think it has something to do with laney’s beliefs?” he asked. “like the supernatural bullshit. do you think that’s why i couldn’t get out of here?”

“--hey!” levi called after the same guy that had ruined his dinner the day before. he didn’t know what his deal was. “are you going to pay me back for the meal you ruined or are you just going to keep walking around town like nothing happened?” he asked, throwing his hands up in the air once he officially approached the guy. “i mean, seriously? what the hell is your deal?” he knew of the guy. he knew his brother hung around him but as far as levi knew, he hadn’t done anything to upset anybody recently and he didn’t get what the problem was.

as the door swung open, levi offered his new found friend a wide smile and extended his arm out to give her the flowers he’d picked up for her on his way here. this was just his way of being nice and trying to make her feel better about everything that she’d been going through. he didn’t really expect to hit it off with her or see her again after he ran into her when she was hanging out with his twin sister but obviously, things went the way they were supposed to. “anything today? surely, your boyfriend has called by now hasn’t he?” he asked, a hopeful look on his face.  @hvnnybee-muses​

it wasn’t really abnormal for levi to go on a hike by himself. it felt as if him and carter sometimes had opposite schedules when it came to these things and well, he didn’t really see his siblings joining him either. which, was fine. it didn’t bother him to go alone. he actually kind of enjoyed the peace and quiet most times. he was walking up a trail into an unknown part of the woods, somewhere he hadn’t been when he stopped in his tracks. his eyes landed on...an extremely large wolf. he held his hands out, “woah there-” he stopped, his voice shaking a little as he slowly backed up. “i’m just going to...back out of here...” he added before he turned to run. there was no way he was just going to stand there, that was for sure.

“hey, there’s nothing wrong with being new in town,” levi started, “in fact, i’m pretty new myself. i just got here about a month ago.” he wasn’t planning on sticking around permanently but it wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen if he did. he actually liked it here but it just wasn’t...home. “and if you haven’t noticed, most of the residents here are actually pretty nice. i don’t think i’ve genuinely had a problem with anyone.” yet. he hadn’t been here that long and being a cop meant he was bound to be put in some uncomfortable situations. “so, tell me, where’d you come from? anywhere exciting?”
