Donning a golden gown, a single, long leg extended from the slit of her dress. It wasn't often Acacia could grace an event this glorious, and she intended to indulge in every moment. Her red lipstick left a ring on her champagne glass - her third of the night - and a diamond ring chinked lightly against the crystal. She stood along the wall, wondering which of these young people her daughter cared so much for to beg for return. Rhia was but a stranger now, so different from the girl in her youth yet her fervent spirit remained annoyingly the same. It unnerved her to be shut out from her daughter's innermost feelings, left out in the cold to feel for the person she'd grown to be. Rhia had never been forthcoming with her tidings, yet Acacia made it her business all the same.
A tall man caught her attention, moody and muscled and all scowls. She grinned behind her glass, picturing what he might boast underneath all that clothing. Her husband and daughter were busy making their rounds, and Acacia was pleased to leave them to their introductions if that meant she might slip out for a moment or two with a lively body. She approached the young man, her stride leisurely and self-assured. "What are you drinking?" she mewed in a regal tone. "Perhaps I'll have one too. Might liven up this dull evening," she drawled with a purse of her ruby lips.
