before he gives the girl any mind at all, he picks off a stray piece of lint that clings to the jacket of his well tailored suit. only after he’s certain that there were no remaining imperfections that could sully his appearance do dark eyes look take in the girl in question. though she might think she has the upper hand ith him trapped in a devil’s trap, it doesn’t stop him from sizing her up like the predator he is. hands fold behind his back as he offers a deceptively polite smile. ‘ pretty little thing, aren’t you? now, let’s cut to the chase. i assume you have a reason for this little exchange. so, what can i do for you? ’

‘ ah-zuuu-la. ’ he singsongs her name, doing his best not to smirk. though he has every intention of taunting the would be queen of hell, he knows full well the attack dog she has on her leash. he’s also fully aware of how deep her hatred for him was. they were both vying for the same position, after all. it was only natural that such competition bred animosity between them. which was why he was so keen to test her patience and get in any digs he could. so long as he kept bringing in souls, she couldn’t touch him. ‘ how are you on this lovely day? you’re looking ravishing as ever. ’

There was an instant sort of eye roll behind the glasses perched on his nose as he shifted his fingers against the rim of his glass. Unexpected, or uninvited visits tended not to fair well for him, and thus he was already annoyed by her very appearance even before he laid eyes on her. He leaned forwards and set the glass aside before he turned his head and looked to the woman before him. As he dropped his foot from the table in front of him and proceeded to lean forwards he arched a brow at the woman, “Dare I even ask why you’re here?” he grunted quickly unable to help himself as he proceeded to lean his head forwards just enough that yellow eyes proceeded to peer above the frame and towards her.
It wasn’t as if he had to hide what he was around this one, she knew. But what made him most curious was why she was even here to begin with. What might she be seeking, or hoping for that would involve him. He was busy drinking a few sorrows away and he had hoped not to be interrupted while at it. “Because it better be good, I was havin’ a good time, till you showed up.” He added in as he let himself fall back into his chair full and easy as he wagged his fingers a bit.

though unsurprising, her struggling does prove to be a bit of a disappointment. he’d imagined this scenario to have been much more romantic than the reality was proving to be. in his head, he had seen her in his arms, carried bridal style back to their shared kingdom. instead, she proved to be a less willing participant. perhaps once she adjusted and her son was brought into the picture, they could be the family she rightfully deserved. until that time, out came the chloroform. nighty-night princess.
