“ it’s not my fault my beautiful and deadly wife keeps leaving me to my own devices. i’ve adapted, mrs. melonchester. i’ve become one with the creatures around me. you’ll become a lizard, too. give it time. ”
because saying: yes, i missed you, is not something they do.
talk about one person your muse loves // ways your muse says i love you
i want to talk about hestia... because there is no one in the world zeus loves as much as he loves his big sis. it seems almost ridiculous that someone as troubled as him can care about someone so different from him -- she’s not materialistic, she’s kind, and forgiving, and gentle and he’s the exact opposite of all of that. but she’s his best friend, and the one person he would trust with every part of him. zeus would fight for her, would take hits for her, would suffer til the ends of the earth to see her happy, and is incredibly protective.
which leads me into the next bit -- he’s not great at expressing genuine love to people outside of those he’s closest to (hera, hestia). but when he cares about someone, he will fight for them and their happiness with everything he has. he might not be good at the little things, the “i’m proud of you’s” or the “have you eaten today’s” but he’s good at protecting people and will do it without hesitation if he loves someone

“next person who says i can’t fight them just because i’m ‘miniature’ is getting a slap to the face. with a chair.”
zeus sibs are highkey ride or die and you can’t convince me otherwise. they have sibling spats that are god-scale so they seem pretty crazy but overall, you know they have each others backs. i mean, the illegitimate ones have that struggle in common, but even the ones who are legitimate have reasons to bond with the others due to their parentage ---- and then beyond that too!
even ares and athena, who probably have one of the more strained relationships, aren’t even that hostile. they argue a lot but at this point its just ??? natural, and it doesn’t come out of any real feelings of hatred. everyone else is ready for shenanigans and a reason to cause zeus some trouble at all times, and they really are the definition of ride or die. they fought the giants together, they’re in this for real
knuckles of a warrior. sif & ares (@agameofsouls)
A bead of sweat fell from Sif’s brow, her echoing shouts bouncing off concrete walls. The gym was conveniently deserted except for her, and she was eternally grateful for that. Being solitary strengthened her, anchored her often out of check rage that reared its head in battle so often. She delivered one final, hard hit to the leather punching bag in front of her, the heavy smack filling the room. Chest heaving, she slumped back from her sparring stance, staring down at her hands.
She remembered a time when her mother had tutted over her scars, brushing over them with a cold hand and exclaiming that, Sif, these are not the hands of a lady. A husband wants the touch of a feather to soothe him, my darling. Not these callouses and rivets.
Yeah. Well those callouses and rivets were even worse now, and as she unwrapped the creased tape from her wrists, she felt surprisingly proud of them. They were each an attestation to her past, a little bumpy reminder that she was a warrior at heart. The gym door opened with a rattle, and Sif smiled. She had been expecting her sparring partner.
