KURT HUMMEL:
The day had been long, Isabelle still fuming because of the added work. It wasn't his fault, and she tried not to direct the anger towards him, but he could tell she was on edge and wasn't particularly fond of him at the moment. She'd reluctantly let him off early, her eyes rolling and a soft mumble under her breath, 'All this work and you want a night off'. He decided to ignore her, letting the shorter blond get over everything without him there to take her misplaced anger. He wrapped up as quick as he could, his eyes catching the time on his watch every so often to make sure he had enough time to get to the address Rachel provided earlier.
Hailing a cab, Kurt climbed in quickly. He didn't usually spend the money, but he stayed as late as he could and walking was no longer an option. Giving the cabby the address, Kurt leaned back into the cracked leather seat, his long fingers picking at an imaginary piece of thread at the hem of his sweater. He hadn't seen the lively brunette in what seemed like forever. How would this turn out? Maybe they lost their connection because of all the time and the choices they made with their careers. He hoped she was the same girl he once hated to love.
After a quick ride, and a couple minutes to spare, Kurt tossed the drive his money and climbed out, suddenly nervous. Smoothing his hands down over the front of his sweater once more, he made his way up to the apartment number he'd repeated over and over in his head on the way over. Sweat collected on his palms as he stood out in front of the door. He had a chance to take a step away and forget everything. Rachel wouldn't know any different, instead he steeled his expression and knocked softly on the door. Taking a step back, Kurt waited nervously for the door to open.
