This reminds me too much of Freshman year for some reason....
Between thesis work sessions, I've been trying to fill my time with creative projects (instead of blank-eyed internet staring). This little skeletal prototype is the beginning of a new idea (to be completed along with the rest of my forest spirits!).
I first tried to make a ribcage out of wire, which proved to be fiddly and ugly and awful. Thankfully, once the wire version was done, I noticed the empty paper towel roll in my recycling bin and realized that it was already curved, perfect for ribcage creation!
Now I just need to suss out how to best reinforce and cover the cardboard for the version that will live within the final creature. I may have spent a while when I should have been trying to sleep mulling over my various options (oops).
