More Than This...Fanfiction

Alex’s P.O.V Chapter 3:

When I opened the door to the backstage area someone pulled my arm and whisked me behind a curtain.

“What the hell?!” I looked over to see Brooke smirking at me, her arms wrapped tightly against her chest. “Don’t give me that look, love. I caught you.”

 I let out a small laugh.  “I thought you were someone trying to kidnap me. And what do you me you caught me?”

She rolled her eyes “Don’t play dumb, Alex. You were pissed at Harry for what he said. So pissed you walked away from us for a half hour. Then I go to look for you to talk to you about what happened and there he is, having a nice chat with you. Do you like him?”

“Um, I don’t think I could answer that after knowing him for barely an hour.” I said looking down at the floor.

“Guys, where are you?” Aimee shouted in the hall. We emerged from the curtain and walked over to her. “You guys need to come warm up real quick so we can get in our places.” She turned around and walked back to the others.

I did a few vocal exercises and peeked out the curtain. I looked around until I spotted Harry standing next to the boys in the middle of the dance floor. My palms started sweating and my heart was pumping so fast. I walked back to my place and Cassidy handed me a microphone. “So you and Harry huh?”

“I don’t want to talk about it right now, I just want to focus on the performance.” I told her icily. She grab my shoulders and gave them a small shake. “Good luck love, will be right there with you.”

I heard a microphone turn on and a man’s voice was booming over the speakers. “Ladies and gentleman, let’s give it up for the winners of The X-Factor in America, Young. And. Wild!!!!”

Our first song was always Moves Like Jagger. I peeked out of the curtain to make sure the makeshift wooden steps, leading up to a flat platform were placed in the corner of the stage. I heard the music start and we all walked out of our places and gathered in the middle of the stage. I looked to the boys and they gave me a huge smile. I smiled back and watched Cassidy walk out of our group and take center stage.

Cassidy walked back to us and Lena moved out in front. We did our background moves as she started to sing her part.

You wanted control So we waited I put on a show Now I make it You say I'm a kid My ego is big I don't give…

We had walked backwards and swung are heads to the left shhh…and it goes like this.

We turned around and ran to the edges of the stage singing the chorus together.

Brooke sang the next part of the chorus:

Then Aimee came out to sing next:

We sang the chorus and I started getting nervous again. What if I screw up my part? What if I fall flat on my face during my signature move? I thought to myself.

When it was finally time to sing I gathered all the confidence I could muster and moved to the center stage.

I climbed the makeshift wooden steps to the top and turned around. I had done this back flip every stop on the tour. I even perfected it before we had started the tour to make sure I could do it in heels. As soon as Cassidy said and it goes like this everything went in slow motion. I felt myself slowly flipping in the air and closed my eyes tight. Please don’t fall, please don’t fall, please don’t fall.

Before I knew it, I had landed on my feet, my back to the crowd. I nailed it! I thought. Knowing that my biggest worry was over, I relaxed and we finished out the song like usual, me raising my hand in the air and flipping my hair into my face. The crowd screamed and we jumped into the next song on our set list.

When we sang Super Bass, I made sure to make my moves extra sexy. I had to give it all I got; I mean it was our last performance.

It was time for our last song, This Time. It was my favorite because it was the song I first sang to the girls when we met and I got to all the parts. I moved to the front of the stage and gave it all the power and emotion I had in me.

We walked off the stage and went into a group hug. “Alex, love you were holding back on us!” Cassidy said, elbowing my side.

“Well, maybe she found a reason to give it all she has.” Brooke said eyeing me cautiously. My eyes got wide and my cheeks flushed a bright red.

“Alex, love we all saw you with Harry. No need to freak out!” Aimee grabbed bottled water from a chair and took a long swig.

“That reminds me, I need to get back out there and find Harry. I promised him we would talk more after the performance.” I found my purse sitting on a chair and I pulled out my lip gloss and compact mirror. After making sure I looked okay, I opened the backstage door and went to find Harry.
