Welcome to this week’s edition of Weekly Wax!
In terms of new releases, the big story this week was the launch of pre-orders for the new Tigers Jaw LP, Charmer. The album received a massive first pressing, but copies are going quickly, as it is one of the year’s most anticipated releases.
Three Man Cannon is returning with a new album in a big way, teaming up with Lame-O records for the release, and planning a run of dates that w…
THREE MAN CANNON lyrics : "Patiently" That's what I like about the cat who lives outside our house. From a plastic pulpit he hears me sing I love you still I can't let you in. But I will tell you everything about the way the world will end.

Roland
In a greasy suburb just minutes from Washington, DC Roland pounded out of his mom's house. A few snarling accusations slipped from his mother's mouth and out the door before he slammed the coated particle-board shut, cutting her short for now. He grabbed his board and took a left onto the sidewalk, following the road to a tree-lined fence separating his semi-rural town from the highway. A section of the fence had been torn away by a man driving north in a Chevy Corsica eight years back who had the unfortunate pleasure of introducing his car to the guard rail at 60 miles per hour. Roland ducked under some branches and stepped into the grass on the side of Interstate 95. Cars zipped by, inattentive.
He brought himself to the very edge of the highway, his board's wheels just inches from the rumble strips formed in cement. He hung the board from his belt by tucking one wheel between where his belt met his pants. A dark green SUV barrelled up the highway with an empty bike rack on top. Roland took note of this and poised himself, ready to pounce at the perfect moment.
As Roland saw the driver's face, he leapt into the air, wrapping a hand around the closest fixture on the bike rack, swinging his body up onto the top of the vehicle as it went around a curve. Now on top, he slowly maneuvered his way down, stomach to the back hatch, and undid the board from his belt with one hand. The driver didn't seem to notice. Using one leg to propel himself slightly from the back of the car, Roland dropped a Cave Man off of the SUV and landed switch on the smooth pavement. He felt incredible. Like all the raddest things in the world had just happened to him.
POP
Roland popped a switch 180 that spanned fifty yards and landed in a 5-0 grind on the guardrail. He rode that 5-0 for three-tenths of a mile. Then, catching the lip from a cement barricade, he soared twenty feet into the air. He came down on some telephone wires looking out over the highway with his legs sturdy, deeply embedded in a boardslide. That boardslide continued forever.
