Uhhhhhhh SO! I woke up one morning with the sudden realization that, in Aquarium AU, if the humans are taking the place of demons and magic in canon as the mysterious otherworldly entities Joey is fascinated with learning about…
Then wouldn’t it follow that Bendy is actually just a human child that Henry and Joey saved long ago and then returned to the human world?
And following that logic….wouldn’t the Ink Demon as a stretched out apparently more hostile form of the original just be….an angry teenager..?
HAVE,,,,Aquarium AU Bendy I guess!!
Rough Timeline plus other things we all pitched in about this kid:
Needs a cane to get around well on foot, though is a very strong swimmer.
Also horns hoodie that often covers his eyes for max ink demon vibes.
Henry and Joey found him in the middle of the ocean as a young child, assumedly victim of a shipwreck.
They decided to make the long journey to safely get this kid back to land, and though Joey might have gotten distracted showing things to his new human friend, he was also Very Serious about finding him a Good Home on land.
Henry often lent the kid his selkie coat along the way to keep him from freezing in the middle of the ocean.
Once they finally found a suitable place to leave this kid, Joey told him a place they could maybe meet up someday.
No one believed kid Bendy about the shape-changing seal and orca mer who rescued him, but when he got older he did manage to make it to that spot a few times, wondering if he was crazy...
But one of those times, Joey showed up!
Joey explained Henry wasn't with him anymore because Henry ABANDONED Joey...but Bendy and Joey at least caught up.
After that Bendy started secretly meeting with Joey on the regular. Joey was... perhaps not the best influence on kid Bendy with regards to petty theft and disregarding authority, but they kept meeting...
At least until Joey didn't show one day...and never came back.
Years later he ends up working part time at the aquarium and might just end up stumbling across a couple familiar faces... and also a familiar coat...
