I’ll be honest - the name ‘Mary’s Steamed Burgers’ made me nervous. But I was wrong, so very wrong. A vegan friend of ours posted on Instagram about the place so we went to check it out. Basically I had probably the most delicious vegan meal I’ve had in RI while sitting on a bar stool in a dive bar in New Bedford. Check out this gallery! The place has 

While we were there Margaret and I got to talk to Mary about her decision to develop a vegetarian/vegan menu. Turns out Mary is really good at making vegan comfort food and it brought people from all around. I tried the Fettuccine and I dream of it today.

Mary’s closed in November, but there was talk of a new spot opening up.  Will we see a Mary’s Burgers in New Bedford? I certainly hope so...

Oh, and please enjoy the most incredible vintage shop in the tri-state area.
