Well, even beyond that, that would have been their second scene together, right? In between Hello and the scene in the Carmel auditorium? Which would have made it BEFORE Jesse was looking at Shelby while kissing Rachel and affirming their plan, which would ultimately break Rachel's heart AGAIN.
Jesse can play around all he wants...he wasn't nearly as genuine in that scene as people are giving him credit for, and that's probably why it was cut -- it was more Lea/Jon than Rachel/Jesse and there was a larger purpose for Jesse that they didn't want getting lost in that.
I'll always appreciate the chemistry between Lea and Jon, but St. Berry? That just made my heart hurt for Rachel.
