The organism prefers the cheap shortcut of "avarage". Generalisation lets the brain recycle its predictions instead of confronting real data. Metzinger would call it low-precision modelling; Kant would call it lazy subsumption under a concept; Schopenhauer would call it the Will narrowing its aperture to save energy. All four are saying the same thing, that generalities protect the system from reality by filtering away difference.
Humans routinely attend to particulars when it costs them nothing. Millions adore Peppa Pig, the cute singular pig, the emotionally charged particular. Meanwhile, they eat pork without hesitation.
The brain can split particulars into two stacks: costly particularity (the real pig with a real body) and cost-free particularity (the cartoon pig). Only the costly zone forces clarity. Most people permanently avoid the costly zone.
