she  hadn’t  been  able  to  get  her  mind  off  of  the  mystery  man  she’d  seen .  she  hadn’t  even  seen  his  face ,  but  yet  he  lingered  in  her  thoughts .  why  was  she  so  focused  on  him ?  all  she’d  seen  was  his  back ,  and  now  he  was  all  she  could  think  about .     “ get  yourself  together , ”    she  whispered  to  herself  as  she  shook  her  head ,  trying  to  get  herself  to  focus .  however ,  this  caused  her  to  stop  paying  attention  to  where  she  was  walking ,  which  resulted  in  her  walking  into  someone .      “ i’m  so  sorry , ”     she  immediately  apologized .    “ i  wasn’t  paying  attention  to  where  i  was --  ”    her  words  trailed  of  as  she  looked  up ,  coming  face  to  face  with  the  back  she’d  been  thinking  about .

@thrten​ sent:    “Just hold me for awhile. Please.”

the  truth  was ,  she  knew   EXACTLY   how  haru  was  feeling  in  that  moment .  she  had  gone  through  the  same  thing ,  feeling  helpless  while  the  person  she  loved  forgot  everything  about  her            about   THEM .  she  remembered  the  helpless  feeling  in  the  pit  of  her  stomach ,  along  with  the  crippling  fear  that  came  after  he  regained  his  memory ;  the  fear  that  he  would  disappear  again .

her  arms  snaked  around  his  waist ,  hands  clinging  to  the  fabric  of  his  shirt  as  she  held  him  as  tightly  as  she  possibly  could .       “  i’m  not  going   ANYWHERE ,  ”       she  mumbled ,  burying  her  face  into  his  chest .    “  i  don’t  care  if  the  next  scene  is  coming .  i’m   NOT   going .  ”      she  gave  him  the  tightest  squeeze  she  could  muster ,  relaxing  as  she  listened  to  the  sound  of  his  heartbeat .  the  thought  of  her  having  forgotten  about  haru ?  if  she  was  honest ,  it  terrified  her .

she’d  been  caught  up  in  her  conversation  with  dohwa ,  so  focused  on  complaining  about  the  author  and  their  incessant  need  to  force  her  together  with  kyung ,  that  she  hadn’t  even  noticed  haru  take  a  seat  next  to  her .  she  had  been  about  to  go  off  on  another  tangent ,  but  all  of  her  words  caught  in  her  throat ,  her  attention  immediately  pulled  elsewhere .

her  attention  was  now  focused  on  the  feeling  of  a  large  hand  gently  holding  her  smaller  one .  the  hand  held  hers  for  a  moment ,  before  it  shifted  to  allow  their  fingers  to  intertwine .  she  heard  her  heart  monitor  start  beeping  before  she  actually  felt  her  heart  begin  to  race ,  her  breathing  just  a  tad  more  shallow  than  before  as  she  turned  her  head  to  look  at  the  culprit .  

if  she  wasn’t  already  sitting  down ,  her  legs  would’ve  given  out  at  the  sight  of  him ,  as  the  gentle  smile  that  played  at  his  lips  as  he  kept  his  gaze  on  the  food  in  front  of  him  made  her  weak  in  the  knees .  she  found  her  own  lips  twitching  up  into  a  smile  of  her  own ,  cheeks  rosy  as  she  dropped  her  gaze  to  her  own  plate  of  food .  

no  words  were  exchanged             they  didn’t  need  them .  all  danoh  did  was  give  haru’s  hand  a  gentle  squeeze ,  before  turning  her  attention  back  to  dohwa  and  their  conversation .  she  didn’t  let  go  of  haru’s  hand  until  they  reached  the  classroom  after  lunch .

it  was  hard  to  believe  that  the  man  who  had  once  been  following  her  in  order  to  collect  information  for  the  prince  was  now  the  person  she  relied  on  the  most .  he  had  been  the  one  to  make  her  aware  of  herself ,  and  now ,  she  could  barely  spare  kyung  a  thought            her  mind  was  simply filled  with  haru .

but  there  were  moments  like  these            moments  when  they  were  reminded  of  the  painful  reality  that  they  lived  in .  they  both  knew  where this  story  was  headed ,  but  neither  of  them  wanted  to  admit  it .  all  she  wanted  to  do  was  run  away  with  haru ,  but  she  knew  it  wouldn’t  do  any  good . 

“ there  is  no  one  i  feel  safer  with , ”     she  said  softly ,  a  small smile  appearing  as  she  reached  out  to  gently  take  his  hand .     “ there  is  no  one  i  would  rather  be  with  right  now . ”
