Dear people who follow me on Facebook and get very very upset when I say anything that you deem anti-Trump or pro-Obama and then ask me to stop being political. Here's what I'd like you to know. As of Sep 30th, one million Americans get my daily email. I would never get pro-left or pro-right to my audience. I lean towards the center. Proudly. But this election is an abnormality. It's a seasoned politician vs a man who is not just grossly unqualified -- he represents values utterly alien to the America I know and love: a racist, misogynistic, fact-immune, fear-monger who makes decision not based on science, but on opportunistic grabs for mind-share. Hence his stance against things very important to me, like global warming, LGBT rights, support for refugees or immigration reform. When I talk about these things, I am not being political. I'm being a decent human being who cares about the planet I'm leaving my kids. I will thus do everything I can to speak out against this ethnocentric bully. I realize that by doing so, I may lose customers and subscribers. I get that. But by NOT doing so, I'm failing against my own values, failing the promise of my company (to spread enlightened ideas) and most of all, failing to stand up for ideals that I love in the world: unity, respect for women, multiculturalism and science-based decision making. So if you must unsubscribe or leave Mindvalley because I occasionally point out Trump's absurdity, feel free to do so. And to make it easier for you, here's a list of all other companies and services you might need to leave since their founders and CEO and spokespeople have all decided to speak out against Trump too. * You can quit Facebook, since it's co-founder Dustin Moskovitz just donated $5M to Hillary. * And toss away your iPhone, since Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple is also anti-Trump. * Put away your Nike, same deal with Nike's CEO. * And get off LinkedIn, since Reid Hoffman just wrote a piece on Medium criticizing Trump. * Also you might want to stop reading the news, since over 100 Newspapers have refused to endorse him. * Also give up the Avengers, Simpsons, Star Trek and other great TV shows since their writers and actors have spoken out against him. * You might also want to quit the Republican Party since as of today 1/3 of Republican senators refuse to endorse Trump. Go ahead. Make America hate again. But don't do it on my Facebook wall.
