This is one of the most emotionally powerful tunes of 2013 if not the last decade, in my opinion. All of Apocalypse is fucking amazing and powerful shit. My wife doesn't like this song, because it makes her cry. She thinks it is a great song, but can't listen to it because it brings up such strong emotions. To be honest this song has brought me to tears as well. Even without the lyrics, just the music itself is so haunting. What does it sound like to think about someone you loved who is no longer with us? This is what it sounds like. I listen to this song and it's like he's right here sitting with me, like he never got cancer and was taken away... All this shit I hear on the radio and TV everyday, none of it gives me an emotional response what-so-ever. Very little of it even makes me think about anything at all. I hear artists attempting to convey emotion regularly but none of it cuts this deep, if at all. I am so very glad Thundercat exists and is making music with such depth. Just wanted to put that out there.
