“Is it…because I am a canine Erune that you ask? Many seem keen to ask me. It’s not as much rude as it is surprising to see…humans so curious. Once you get it over with, it will be done, yes?”
His ears would twitch at the words of the knight before him. The other seemed a pleasant sort, though he couldn’t say the same for the red haired knight among their number. That one was much like an angry rooster at best. But…this man? He could almost sense it–that the other would not attack him if he allowed himself to bow his head.
He would eventually dip his head, trusting that the other would not take it. Trust…something that doesn’t come easily to him. He was still weary, but he would allow the knight this one action.
“Don’t pull at them…they’re sensitive. Just warning you in advance.”
Lancelot was not expecting Eustace to accept his proposal and had been prepared to take the rejection with good humour. Thus when the Erune did dip his head slightly, Lancelot took his words to heart as he reached out and stroked them with the utmost care.
It was impossible to hide how his eyes lit up at the action and the knight quickly withdrew his touch. His smile wide and beaming he chuckled lightly and nodded. “I must thank you for indulging me, Eustace~.” Lancelot quickly folded his arms across his chest harmlessly away from the other man’s ears.
“I do apologize however. It struck me on a whim I’ve never known an Erune long enough to ask and ... well, I suppose I still have some childish thoughts after all~. I swear I will not tell Vane you let me, lest he pelt you with a dozen inquiries!”
