GULGULAAAYYY!!! YES! YOU READ IT RIGHT!! There's a rain delicacy called Gulgulay and they're exactly how they sound - friendly (not to the weight watchers) I remember my grandma used to make them especially in the rainy weather. I've been thinking of her since last night and been dying to make them. Of course I started them with a terrible recipe but Ma was there to save the day. Here's the recipe to these fluffballs in brief Make a sucrose solution by adding sugar and dissolving it to boiling water. Let it cool a little. Take wholemeal flour (ata) about 2 cups. Add Yeast to it (1tsp) and make a batter with the sucrose solution. Make sure the batter is not too runny. Something like pakoray will do. Leave the batter for about an hour (or half if you're as impatient as I am) for the yeast to fermentate. Mix it again and adjust the consistency with the sucrose solution. Then just feel fry them in boiling hot oil and enjoy under the rain!! @foodieshoodie this is in my kitchen today!
