Its not everyday that you hear about a musician who decided to quit writing music with a band and actually began to write music completely electronically. Thunderthief based out of Denver, Colorado combines two very different genres; pop punk and electronic dance music into one great mixture. In 2014 Thunderthief released a ton of music through small record labels both in the UK and US, all of which you can find on Spotify, iTunes and Soundcloud. Although Thunderthief has slowed down with releases, he is currently focused on playing shows and doing so with a live band. Because of the different genre of music, Thunderthief’s influences range in genre as well, including Coheed and Cambria, Saves The Day and BT.

With hopes of one day sharing the stage with some of their influences Thunderthief has already had the opportunity to play with national acts such as Avan Lava, My Body Sings Electric, Riley Warren, and Zac Waters. Heading to Riot Fest this year to catch some of their favorite acts, Thunderthief already has an idea to what festival life is like. They had the opportunity to play SXSW this past year, and had one of the best experiences being able to connect with other musicians from all over. Thunderthief is on the rise, and you will sure to be hearing this dynamic twist on pop punk all over very soon!
Q&A Time:
As band, is there one show that you've played that has stuck out to you, perhaps qualifying as the best/ most fun you've had playing on a stage?
TT: “Thus far my favorite show I've ever played was at SXSW this year. It was my first time down there and as we continued to play, the room filled up to capacity with a lot of new friends vibing out to me and my live band. We had some hard live events happen to us over the course of that weekend, but we pulled through and put on a great show regardless.”
Which do you prefer to attend more, Festivals or Shows? Explain!
TT: “I like to attend shows more often these days, it's a great night out if the vibe is right.”
