Moving onto some Deathcore material here with one of Australia’s most brutal exports in Thy Art Is Murder. Coming together in 2006, these absolute bruisers have made quite a name for themselves and accumulated a cult following in the metal scene. There was a lot of anxiety when vocalist CJ McMahon left the band temporarily, but don’t y’all worry he came back and they’ve since gone on to perform recently at Bloodstock Festival and drop this bad boy which is their 5th full length album.

Album opener and title track “Human Target” is a phenomenal showcase on just what they can do, McMahon’s vocals are alike to the spawn of Satan himself and those riffs and drops are just so damn sinister it's got my face all twisted up. We don’t even remotely calm down as the album goes on with “Death Squad Anthem” which I have not been able to get out of my head for such a long time at this point. “Make America Hate Again” being a blatant play on Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again with the lyrics referencing the current politics in a violent manor, great bloody stuff that. 

I never thought this would be a band that I would find myself thoroughly enjoying, the whole Deathcore sub genre was one that never really struck home with me but there's something about this band that just resonates with me.
