adding AAC to a jailbroken TI-84 calculator pupdate!

- no progress learning TI BASIC

- put 2048 on calculator

- thinking abt trying to port* existing open source AAC onto calculator

- playing 2048 whenever im bored

- probably don’t have the skills for that

- but what if !!!! what if indeed

*porting is when you take an app or game written to run on one device and put it on another. this is how we get DOOM running on everything

i wish i had jailbroken my calculator in high school !! i’ve had mine since i was ?? 18 in high school i think?

and would have been playing games on it during class if i had, tragic! i did play a lot of pokemon in class on a gameboy color emulator in high school on my laptop so instead of taking notes, pokemon.

how the TI-BASIC AAC program is going:

given that HTML for neocities makes me cry real tears , i’m planning on making this very very simple and more as a “it is possible for this to be done at all” rather than “this is the next big thing”

it would be phrase based, not symbol based, and contain a grid of phrases that are strings of text. you would navigate between phrases with the keypad.

it would be more predictive (like several touch chat boards) like you click on need and it brings up a board of things you might need.

Instead of doing my homework or buying groceries, I just spent two hours working on making a magic tower game for the TI-83. It's extremely bare-bones (doesn't even have keys yet) but it's already kind of satisfying to play.

I have a character that can move around the screen and won't walk off the edge. I kinda want to make a whole-ass Magic Tower game.

i couldn’t figure out my ti program and no one was giving any help but i managed to accidentally press the right combination of buttons and then i figured it out

I’ve been recoding a program from scratch on my calculator (a TI-84 Plus C Silver Edition), and I finalized it today. It’s called VECTSUM, and can add together any number of vector quantities (so long as their directions are in azimuth degrees). The code in the TI BASIC language is below:
